Cavaliers Trade Ideas: 2022-23 regular season edition

One of my close friends is a diehard Celtics fans like we are for the Cavs.

He said there’s enough smoke around Jaylen Brown being a weirdo in the locker room to suggest it’s real.

Being a weirdo to Boston might make him ideal for the Cavaliers...
 
It appears Jerami Grant is available too, although the salary would be hard to match and at almost 28 he is a bit old to match ages with our core.

I think we are going to hunt vet players that can give us 10 productive minutes off the bench, while our guys breathe a minute.. preferably where we keep the contributors..

Something like a Terrance Mann, or sweet Lou, but younger.. to play with Rubio, Love Osman, Davis..

As long as Thibs is the coach in New York I can't see them trading for Sexton..... He's already benched Kemba completely because of his inability to guard they way they need/want... Sexton isn't as bad as a defender as Kemba but lets not act like he's a much better defender either..

Yeah, I tend to think we look to add some more youth, as we already have a nice mix of veterans (Love , Rubio, Davis, Osman) to go with our young players.

Well, the Knicks had interest in Collin in the offseason and the Kemba signing sure hasn't worked out. I think Thibs would love a kid like Collin, with as hard as he works & plays the game.
 
I think the only workable trade is something like Cedi, Rubio and an unprotected 1st for Jaylen Brown. Which I'd do, but we'd also need a backup point guard.

He would definitely love his attitude and effort but his defensive inefficiencies would cause rifts. Thibs is a notorious asshole lol.. I'd love to acquire a 1st! But I would be shocked if it's the Knicks even with them definitely needing an upgrade at the G position(s).

Thibs isn't for everyone, but, once you become one of his guys, he's very loyal to you...see D-Rose, Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, etc. The Knicks are pretty desperate and are getting to the point where this season may be a lost cause. About their only chance of adding a young talent, like Sexton, is to trade for him now and get his Bird rights.
