Cavaliers Trade Ideas: 2022-23 regular season edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The trade that makes too much sense not to happen:

Cleveland receives: Harrison Barnes
Sacramento receives: Caris LeVert, '24 pick swap & two second round picks ('23 & '25)

Why?
Cleveland needs a tall wing. Barnes could be a really good fit here & is a seasoned vet.
Sacramento gets the younger player who could be utilized in a number of ways in Sacramento, while giving Murray the keys to the SF position. They also get a first-round pick swap in 2024 & two second round picks as well.

Murray pretty much has the keys to the SF position already. Barnes has been playing PF for the most part. If I were the Kings I’d be trying to use Barnes to get Crowder & Johnson or someone like John Collins.

What about R.J. Barrett? He's a legit 6'7" with a long wingspan. Would be a great fit at small forward.

Cleveland receives R.J. Barrett, Julius Randle & Evan Fournier
New York receives: Kevin Love, Caris LeVert & Cedi Osman

Why?
The big acquisition for Cleveland is Barrett, who could slide in the small forward position. Randle would come off the bench along with Fournier.
New York gets cap relief & puts Toppin in the starting line-up.

I know we're eating a ton of salary, but I think that's the only way we can get our hands on Barrett.

Barrett has been hot garb on offense. He is as bad for spacing as Lamar...not Okoro tier tho.

We give up all our spacing in this deal. As is NYK isnt giving up RJ. He wasn't in the Mitchell deal. He won't be used to salary dump Dubious Handles and Don't Google Me

Barrett is Okoro if Okoro shot ten times as much, just as poorly, was a worse defender, and the Cavs just extended him on a $120M deal.

No.

Okoro + Levert for Gordon Hayward works in the ESPN trade machine.

Just saying.

I was thinking about the Luka situation & how his young years are being wasted in Dallas. What if they decide to trade him? We can put together a nice package to get Doncic.

Cleveland receives: Luka Doncic, Tim Hardaway Jr., Davis Bertans & Josh Green
Dallas receives: Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley & Jarrett Allen

Why?
For Cleveland, it's quite simple. They get the best player in the NBA. In the process, they absorb some of the Mavs worst contracts to sweeten the deal.
Dallas has put a very mediocre supporting cast next to Luka, & if they decide to trade him, this package might be too good to pass up.

Cleveland line-up
PG: Luka Doncic / Ricky Rubio / Raul Neto
SG: Caris LeVert / Tim Hardaway Jr. / Josh Green
SF: Isaac Okoro / Cedi Osman / Lamar Stevens / Dylan Windler
PF: Dean Wade / Kevin Love / Davis Bertans
C: Robin Lopez / Isaiah Mobley
Coach: J.B. Bickerstaff

You talk about Luka wasting his time in Dallas and want to solve that by emptying the chamber so he can waste his time in Cleveland? The roster left after trading for him is no better than the one he'd be leaving. Without *any* of Don, Evan, DG or Jarrett staying in Cleveland, it'd be a huge waste.

My thought process reading it:

Don AND Darius? Well, it is Luka after all- oh he’s still going…

Cleveland gets: Troy Brown
Los Angeles gets: Lamar Stevens & two seconds ('25 Mil & '26 LAL)

Why?
Cleveland takes a close look at Troy Brown & see if he's good enough to start. He's the tall wing we lack on the roster.
Lakers get some assets for a vet min guy.
