Cedi Osman 18-19 stats: 13ppg, 5reb, 3asts
Jaylen Brown 18-19 stats: 13ppg, 4reb, 1ast
Cedi Osman: 4yr, 31m. Jaylen Brown: 4yr, 115m
Don’t get me wrong Brown is grossly overpaid but he is a fair bit better than Cedi. He did those numbers in like 8 less minutes, more efficient and way way way better defense

Not to be a downer. But Cedi played 32 MPG. Brown played 25 with much better talent around him. Cedi is still a much better contract but comparing their stats like that is flawed. Brown is better and has more upside but it's not a 80 Mil difference.

Sure, I just wanted to show 84 mil difference.

Really 75ish. Browns contract is 100 M over 4 with like 6 in likely incentives and 8 in unlikely incentives or some shit. But yeah Brown getting paid a crazy amount is outrageous.

I thought the extension deadline happened already? Did it not happen for Cedi because he was a 2nd rounder?

What are the per36 stats?

He was a different draft class all together I think

How are Browns defensive numbers? I'm surprised because it was supposed to be a good defensive team.

Look it up if you wanna know. If Cedi is doing that in 32 MPG and Brown in 25 MPG common sense dictates Browns will be better by a solid margin. But not 70 to 80 Mil better. Brown is a 4th or 5th guy on a contender. Cedi 7th or 8th man.

I know what they are. What is Brown's elite NBA skill?

He doesn't have one. That's why I said he's a 4th or 5th guy on a contender and not a top 3 guy. He's a starting glue guy. I said he's not worth what he's getting paid. Cedi is on a very team friendly deal and his contract is a steal. But comparing him to Brown because Celtics are retarded and overpaid him is a waste of time.

It was the rookie scale extension deadline the other day, which didn't apply to Cedi. The Cavs signed Cedi with part of the MLE when he came to the NBA. That made him eligible for the 2+ year vet extension which they could come to an agreement anytime with less than a year left on his contract.

Yep, that is third wing coming off the bench money. It's a fair deal, and perhaps all the talk from Silver about the cap being impacted by the China fiasco could have pushed his representation to lock something down early. All the same, the problem with bad teams is that playoff teams can't have enough two way long wings. Locking one down before he hits the market in his prime is a win.

I also think that sometimes guys realize that being with an organization that is committed to them is worth taking a little less. The Cavs have been consistent with his minutes all last year and Koby even tried to get Lue to play him more his rookie year. He just have to look at his world cup teammate Furkan Korkmaz to see the flip side. The 76ers declined his option then something weird went down where he was suppose to go back to Europe then came back on a one year minimum deal with a team option for a 2nd. He seems to get inconsistent minutes and that contract shows that the 76ers don't want to have any commitment to him.
