Well that’s 30M spent. Reasonable if there is improvement.

No.

It's reasonable even if he regresses. It's a steal if he stays the same and if he improves and become a legit starter then Koby fucked Cedi in the ass bank robbery.

It's basically MLE money for a young, 6'8.5 wing.
He’s listed as 6’7 now

it is but who is our SF if he is our SG? Windler? Deni..?

Because of the team construction I guess he will be playing SF or PG for the foreseeable future.

Not just because off the current roster, but because if we get a high lottery pick we will probably go with Anthony Edwards and he is a SG too. No real SF in the high lottery this year.

It sucks because I really like him as a SG as he can bully SGs and he can't do that as a SF and PF. So he becomes more one dimensional in a sense. Don't think he is currently quick enough to take advantage of PFs unless he becomes a much better 3pt shooter off the dribble. And probably his toughest matchup is a SF. No real advantage there as SFs are much stronger and are much better defensively than SGs.

Really happy to have Cedi with us for another 4 years especially in his prime. Very hard working guy, plays decent defense (not fair to look at last year because we had no defensive coaching), and is great at slashing to the basket. There is still room for him to grow. Lets give coach B some time to help him. I know Coach B likes Windler but it is hard to find a player like Cedi with such great attitude. Nice to have Garland, Sexton, Cedi, Porter, Windler for our franchise.

I can’t see how anyone can’t think this was a helluva coup by Altman. My only reg is that he didn’t get Nance on a deal like this.

It's too bad we couldn't get Brandon Clarke somehow. Such a steal. Was he picked 21st? can't remember. We should have traded JR Smith's expiring for him and according to report we had a mmid 1st pick offer.

Brandon Calrke would have shored our PF/C position. He is going to be an advanced stat darling even in his rookie year.

Honestly, I really do not think Cedi is a net positive player, nor do I think he will ever become one as a starter/key cog.

The great thing about this contract is, if I am wrong, holy steal, batman. If I am right, though, a contender may be able to talk themselves into Cedi as a back-of-the-rotation wing who can learn to defend well in the right system. I.E., it is a super tradable contract.

Started off the season on the right foot. The more games like that he has (3/6 from deep, 2 assists, 2 steals), the more his value will rise as a "missing piece" positionless bench wing type. Exactly the kind of player contenders trade a late first and an expiring for.

I've also wondered if the Cavs' goal is to use Cedi to move a guy like Love for fair value?
