Cleveland Browns 2020 Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Opened as 10 point dogs for game one at Caesars. Woof.

We were 10+ point dogs *at home* the last time we played Ratmore, so that's 6 points "better." :)

Let's see that COVID backup schedule now

Everyone plays in Dallas where they have like 10 nfl style high school fields to go along with the cowboys stadium.

For a moment I thought NCB was referring to the "backup schedule" when he said Caesars, i.e. everyone in the league was playing at neutral sites in Vegas, TX, FL, etc.

Hey, if we play one of the easier games first in a 10-game backup season, and get to break our opener non-win-streak, I won't complain.

I have a weird opinion about playing the Ravens in the opener as it may not be as bad we think it is. Dont get me wrong as this game is probably a loss and a very difficult game to win but at the same I think the Browns players are starting too get used to playing Lamar Jackson as QB. Our team beat them pretty bad last year in the first match up and the second matchup we had him slowed down until Kitchens thought it was a good idea too attack a better team in the 2 minute drill while only down 7-6. We had that machine on the mat up 6-0 without our best defensive player even availiable. Still gonna be a tough game but i like being familiar with a team.

We get an entire off-season to gameplan for a team with the same offensive system.

They have an entire offseason of watching tape of old teams and guessing what we’ll be doing.

Ravens in week 1 isn’t ideal but tactically speaking, it is IMO, an advantage to catch a good team under these circumstances.

We all penciled in the Titans as an easy win last year and they beat the shit out of us.

Anything can happen. The Ravens are walking in as the favorites but it's week one and you never know.
Bingo. It’s also a division game. Always a good, close, tough game. can not wait!

I am actually happy we are playing BAL week 1 AWAY. It's honestly the best scenario:

1. To ImWithDan's point, we are a brand new team basically. New scheme/style of play really on both sides of the balls. Defense will play to our strengths but will still be changed. They cannot just gameplan to stop Chubb and cover OBJ/Jarvis. There are a lot more weapons/tricks that can be played.

2. If we lose (hopefully not blown out), we lost to easily the 2nd best team in the AFC by a large margin in their home stadium. And I was at the BAL game last year in Baltimore when we won - that stadium was nuts until we started pulling away. Definitely not an easy place to play.

3. Without playing KC, it's great we get to play one of the best AFC teams right off the rip to see how we stack up. It is week 1 and there will be rust, especially after this offseason, but it can only hopefully go uphill from week 1.

The back half of the schedule can be looked at being unfortunate or kind of okay. After our bye, we get to place 2 good teams (HOU maybe? but yes PHIL) at home, but then we have to go on the road 4/5 weeks heading into the big part of our playoff stretch. But looking at it from the other side, those 4 away games aren't horrible:

Jags - winnable
Titans - scary
Giants - winnable
Jets - winnable

That very last game, home against the Steelers, could end up being a huge game. I know that sounds obvious saying it now, but I am happy we get to play the Ravens/Steelers away earlier and home later.

Titans and Ravens on back to back weeks is really, really tough.

I fear that he's going to follow the dual-threat-aging-gracefully curve that Wilson does, even if he's not currently built the same way to take the hits.

I won't wish for injuries; I really think karma is a thing here.

Team goes 15-1. Team looks dominant all regular season. Squeaks through every playoff game. Gets to the SB, has tons of doubters that they've reverted back to the mean, and then proceed to blowout the 49ers with an impressive 63-7 victory.

I may or may not have been playing around with ayahuasca when I saw all this.

6 wins with some moral victories sprinkled in for fun.

I think the Titans are a prime regression candidate this year. There's no way Tannehill is that good again, and there is absolutely zero chance they'll have the absurd red zone efficiency they had last year. I believe after Tanny took over, they went to the red zone around 30 times and scored a touchdown on all but one of those possessions. That ain't happening again.

Your "projection" seems asinine.

Theyll beat the Saints 63-7 in the super bowl
