Browns rank as the second-most advanced team as far as analytics from a survey of NFL staffers and executives. Right behind the Ratbirds.

The survey is really interesting. Browns are actually listed as No. 1 in terms of "which analytics team produces the highest level of work."

I think the survey makes very clear that nearly every team in the league are adding analytics to varying levels of decision-making. It seems like what makes the Ravens, Browns, Texans, and Eagles unique is that analytics are involved at all levels of decision-making - from game management to salary cap.

I liked this quote

"I think that Cleveland is probably positioned to be the most analytically advanced in 2020 and beyond," one staffer wrote. "They have a robust infrastructure in this area that survived multiple regime changes and is now aligned philosophically with their head coach and general manager."

I take it as we had a solid analytics department, Dorsey ignored it, but somehow we still kept everybody and now everyone is on the same page.

If my view is accurate, that's just amazing. That during our most dysfunctional period, we built our FO correctly, didn't listen to them but somehow they all stayed around, and now their vision is leading the entire organization.

We might finally have lucked into the right organizational structure.
