Man, seeing this play from this angle is harder to watch. Bryant’s wide open. Baker three the ball at the only time and place he couldn’t.
If Baker just puts it on a line and gets him the ball quick, Bryant does the rest.

Also appears that had Bryant cleared the safety no one else was on the backside. Had Baker thrown the ball toward the back of the end zone with some air so Bryant could run under it it’s either a TD or out of the end zone. It doesn’t appear the safety would’ve been able to get over to make a play.

He had to side step the rush and it threw the timing off. It happens.

It’s one negative play in a game full of positives again.

I just feel like he didn't noticed the safety at all and just immediately threw ball once he saw Bryant running toward the end zone.
I think Baker himself even said as such earlier in the week. He avoided the rush, looked up and saw the man sprinting free from his defending and put the ball up, never double checking the safety

I might be wrong, but didn't the boundary corner drop all the way back to deep half?

I think the Bengals CB just made a good play getting all the way back there. Had Baker even just put the ball in the back half of the end zone instead of the 5 yard line, I think he gets away with it. But he clearly had no idea there was help back side.

Yeah, the Bengals coverage on that play was insane. Baker should have scrambled or thrown the ball away, but there was no way he was getting much in the way of positive yardage. On second look, I have less of a problem with that pass than other things in the game. Good work from Cincinnati - one of their only good plays in the game.

You must have the most ridiculous standards of all time for a QB.

Let's be clear: As a website we are excited Jordan takes time to make educated and insightful analysis pieces. He has put hours into raising the analysis in this section, everyone appreciates it.

If you plan on reacting like a small child to analysis of Baker Mayfield that is unflattering, I know a real easy and quick way to make this website better.

Last warning. Don't attack members, instead discuss ideas.

I'm not allowed to disagree with people's analysis now? I think it's bad analysis.

Mayfield had one of his best games since 2018 and I feel like he deserves more praise than criticism. It's pretty hard to agree with criticism over a nearly perfect game when you complete 70% of your passes, have 9.8 YPA and throw 2 touchdowns. All while being extremely efficient at moving the chains.

I'm allowed to disagree with people. This isn't communist China.
