I doubt it's covid because of the incubation period. Most people experience symptoms/illness 5 days after contracting it. Some experience it as early as 2 days after contracting it. He'd have tested positive before getting any symptoms, so it's probably just a cold. Organization definitely needs to follow covid protocols no matter what, though. Subsequent tests will be negative and he'll be good to go for the game.
I believe it is daily testing regardless of symptoms.I'm not entirely familiar - are they doing daily testing of players and personnel, regardless of symptoms?

My daughters just had a cold last weekend, covid test came back negative from both.no I have not. But I get a sore throat for a week or 2 around this time every year
