Cleveland Browns 2021 Regular Season: RIP

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
With our offense you almost have to pick your poison. Focusing on stopping the run game and hoping Baker has a bad game seems like the logical way to go because if Chubb and Hunt get rolling early you're pretty much toast.
I agree, I just think it's interesting how confident opposing fans are that Baker will just be slinging interceptions left and right. Definitely not seeing the same Baker that we believe he is at this point.

Interesting stuff from opposing teams fans on the Browns, particularly Baker.

The common saying is this: "Stop Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt to force Baker to pass. He will make mistakes." A lot of Bears fans did it and because they have a good run defense, expected a bunch of Baker interceptions. Now I see plenty of Vikings fans saying the same thing (Texans fans expected to get blown out, and Chiefs fans thought they'd run us over).

Now I'm perfectly fine knowing that it'll be awhile before Baker sheds his reputation of being an interception machine. And as long as he isn't putting up big 350+ yard 4 TD games that casual fans drool over then he may always have that rep. It just makes me feel good that he has grown as much as he has and seems to be underestimated. I also feel like that perspective is kinda shared throughout the league, since often times we see opponents very early in the game stacking the box and collapsing hard trying their hardest to stop CHUNT and dare Baker to beat them.

Maybe that's why we see Stefanski passing more in the beginning sometimes, softening them up and then unleashing CHUNT.
Do you return to their sites after the game? Curious if they changed their tune or went with the "lucky game" approach

Good post.

I know that whenever I see a team face an offense that prioritizes wide zone runs, I feel the defense should run more than 4 men in their defensive front. You plug the gaps and beat the scheme, as the Patriots showed us against the Rams in the Super Bowl, and teams have been doing successfully ever since.

My personal favorite Browns occurrence of this wasn't even against a wide zone team--it was Tennessee last year. We utilized extra men at the line of scrimmage to stop Derrick Henry before he got up to speed and completely neutered that team. We blew them out with ease early in that game.

I guess, for some stupid reason, I never thought that we were an offense that other teams would use that against. It just never entered my mind--but it's probably right. If I'm an opposing defense, I think that the Browns' number one priority on offense is zone runs with Chubb, so I'm going to try and take that away. If a defense is scheming to stop that, then taking what they give you (passing) is the right call.

Do you think w/ Landry out we'll continue to push Felton's usage up in the slot? It was great to see DPJ step up and make some magnificent catches. I love our threats at TE. It's great that the big bodies out there that can run block are able to make incredible catches and move the chains. So much offensive potential, it's exciting!

I'm REALLY anxious to see which Defense to expect each Sunday. You knew w/ a rookie QB coming in the surest way to succeed is to blitz their asses off. We've been victim to that approach how many times in the last 2 decades? :) However, if that wasn't a fluke....

I don't get it, he says he's a Browns fan, he was born in Ohio, he's clearly a lifelong Browns fan!

Well this settles it. Give back the 2016 trophy.

Edit to remove shitting on another player for no reason.

LeBron has 99M followers, which is about 99M more than me.

I’d do anything to get him down to 98M for this disgusting front-running including a letter-writing campaign if anyone is interested.
99M? Big deal. At least 1/3 of those are trying to extent the warranty on his car.

It is also really disgusting that Myles has joined forces with Lebron to bring never before seen supplements to market — like, creatine, BCAAs and pre-workout. I have never even heard of these alien products(!), but apparently Dr. Fauci, CDC and FDA all agree they are safe and effective.

Anyway — this makes me question Myles loyalty to the City of Cleveland and the Browns.

ETA - he should have had at least 2 more sacks last Sunday. He needs to spend less time in the weight room bodybuilding! I always say — “a loose muscle is a fast muscle.”
