Cleveland Browns 2021 Regular Season: RIP

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I remember when there was a debate about if we could only keep Myles or Ward. Team ward mostly argued that CB is more important than EDGE which I still don’t agree with. Either way Ward has fallen a long way from grace
Ah I remember those debates. Doubt anyone is gonna eat crow on that. I take Myles over any cornerback in the league right now.

The rule changes over the years haven't helped corners much. You can't even touch a guy now without getting a PI call.

Granted, teams have started to figure out they can hold Myles all day without getting called, but even still, he makes a bigger impact than any corner in the league by a substantial margin.

I think elite corner is a lot rarer than elite edge but ward has killed that Myles vs ward debate

You look at top 5 defenders of all time and they all could get to the QB. LT, White, JJ Watt, (prime, not this version), Ray Lewis. You have Deion and Rod Woodson and Ronnie Lott, but i think those 3 are just outside the top 5.

My point is getting pressure on the QB is the single most important thing in defending. Sure all positions are needed, but I would take a dominant DE over CB if I had to pick just one.

Baker is playing with a torn labrum and a shoulder fracture yet ward can’t play with a hurt hamstring…

There is no off hamstring, you need them both to run, and hamstrings are tough...but Ward has hamstring issues and not trying to say he isnt made of glass, but hamstrings are almost impossible to play through for a corner, rb or receiver.

I mean, toughness aside, it's a totally different injury. Even if Ward was gutty enough to play through it, it would heavily influence his play on the field. Baker's left shoulder is almost useless for football purposes and you can see how much it can hamper play.

The problem with Ward is that he picks up these injuries all the time. Gotta find a healthier option

Clearly Baker's left shoulder isnt useless, Baker both blocks and tackles with his left shoulder.

Does anyone have info on Stump's ailment? Related to an old knee injury is all I got.
