Coco Trade Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Stark: Coco on the south of 50/50 to be traded

You forgot Ronnie B.... shame.

I think Jhonny will continue to bat 3rd... things started to come together bigtime when it was Jhonny-Travis-Vic

Will Marte start when he gets here? Or will he slowly work himself into the lineup? What will happen of Aaron Boone, is he going to 1st base? He certainly isn't an outfielder... He's probably going to be traded this season unless he bats .280 right from the start.

And apparently that Jason Michaels guy is in the process of coming over here...He batted .304 last season... not bad to throw into the poor B dominated mix we had last season.

Sizemore CF
Marte ? 3B ... or Michaels LF
Peralta SS
Hafner DH
Martinez C
Michaels LF ... or Boone 3B
Belliard 2B
Broussard/Perez 1B
Blake RF

Re: Stark: Coco on the south of 50/50 to be traded

i dont see marte coming in early to take over the everyday third base job. He will probably be treated like Jhonny Peralta was treated last year, I think that is the best way to handle a young up and coming star.

On a side note, if Garko turns out to be as good as he has been in the minors the tribe will be stacked.

Re: Stark: Coco on the south of 50/50 to be traded

Word is Garko is a terrible C so he has to be moved to first....but I know nothing about our minors, so I could be very wrong on this.

But the Beacon Journal and the Dealer said Marte will be in Buffalo for sure at the start of the season.

He needs it, he needs to hit a higher avg at Triple A if he wants to play up in the majors.

Boone should be playing some first, get Ben and Blake outta here..please..

Re: Stark: Coco on the south of 50/50 to be traded

Garko is a DH in the field. He is a horrible catcher and they are really working on him at 1B, but right now think Matt LeCroy.

The new spin on the deal is that it is Crisp, Riske, and Bard for Marte, Mota and Kelly Shoppach... then turn and still send Rhodes to Philly for Michaels.

WOW. Oops, sorry guys. The sad part is that I had not been drinking. I do think Boone/Broussard will split time at 1B however as Boone is simply not an outfielder. Still ?'s concerning Garko, Marte, and a few others.

I wondered about the latest. There was a little mention of the trade last night on local news coverage, but the story has disappeared from the news list at ESPN.

Watch this one fall through.

Re: Stark: Coco on the south of 50/50 to be traded

Shapiro said there is no "agreement in principal". Take that for what its worth.

Re: Stark: Coco on the south of 50/50 to be traded

Mota failed a physical in Cleveland making the deal look very unstable at this point.

Crisp Restructuring..

There have been rumors of a potential...

Cleveland Trades: Coco Crisp

Boston Trades: Matt Clement

Cincinatti Trades: Austin Kearns

Cleveland Gets: Austin Kearns

Boston Gets: Coco Crisp

Cincinatti Gets: Matt Clement

And there are rumors of the old Coco trade going down without Mota. And instead of Mota the Sox would trade as Peter Gammons puts "HIGHLY REGARDED" pitcher Manny Delcarmen.

I really am starting to like both deals...Especially since the guy we are getting from the Phillies is just a slight step under Coco with more power less speed and a better arm I've heard. So we'd take a slight step back fill our major gap and add a "highly regarded" pitching prospect.

Or add a big bat like we've all wanted in Kearns.

This is starting to get annoying, we need to get this done quickly. Im not that opposed to this trade anymore as long as we get a stud in return. I feel we need a starting pitcher more than a reliever but there is allways room for quality arms.

I think we are set in starting pitching, as par as what Crapiro wants.

But Im not dealing Crisp anywhere without Marte in the deal...

Yeah I've read up on Marte and I really want this guy...

Its not that I really want him, it's I dont like Boone and we need a third base prospect if Peralta isnt moving to third..

Kearns is like Russel Branyan, big stick and abig whiff. So I hope we dont go that route.

Got my hands on a NY Times at work yesterday and they seemed to think Marte was headed to Philly in the trade(still a 3-way). At this point it's all speculation of course, but just another scenario to deal with for now..........
