Super rusty, but I saw clear willingness and emphasis to pass and defend. Could've had a few more assist even in those limited minutes.

I'm excited because it looks like he continued where he left off last year and might just have improved both of his biggest weaknesses... yet again.

This is,why I dont understand people looking down on him after last night's game. He was actually looking for people to pass the ball to and that's not good enough for them.

Totally agree. Remember he had 2 slow starts but both seasons he improved further as the season goes on. Looking forward to seeing how he improves his passing and defense this year.

Sexton is one of those players that turns me, a regular pessimist, more optimistic. And I'm glad now that he has a teammate in Okoro who is EXACTLY the kind of good influence to be around him. The more he passes, the better he defends... the more he's going to do the one thing we know he can do well, and that's score.

I know it's one game, but Sexton already being better about handling the defense, and still putting the fear of God in opponents, even without the ball... tells me it's going to be a good season for the Super Saiyan Soldier this time around. He also looks like he's bulked up, too.

My favorite play on the night is when it was a 4 vs 1 and Sexton passed the ball to Garland for the wide open three....Rookie Sexton would have tried to score on that play.
My favorite as well. I also liked the failed play where it looked like he was gonna put one up but passed out through the double to McGee. Another "Rookie Sexton would have just run into that wall" moment.

Also telling he got quite a few double teams tonight.

He had the oops to Okoro in transition which was awesome too. Those 2 are made to play with each other. Disrupt the play and run like hell.

What can Sextons efficiency become if he only takes good shots? A couple of difficult finishes, but his shot selection was great and when he drew a crowd he got rid of it early.

His over the top pass was good, several entry passes that way

Gottlieb has done a wonderful job helping the young guys. They always speak very highly of her with their development. I know, she sent the them game tape and interact with them when the season was suspended.

Sexton has come a long way from not being able to shoot to being a three-level scorer. I know,it's one game but I really think Sexton can be a 5 or 6 assists guy this season. It looks like he put alot of emphasis of passing the ball more this season.

He was solid defensively, he still messed up,a few times but he did good.

I think playing with Javale and Okoro helped him. I hope that lineup continues.

Also, no problem with how many assists if the team plays like that sharing the ball. Sexton had some passes that could have been assists, but became even better opportunities with Nance especially. Nance really did have a Draymond like game. Nance and Sexton had more chemistry than last year. That was good to see. Just in general, it seemed like Collin knew the his guys better and how he could use them.

I don't know what else you could ask of him. He was money with the floater early, throwing darts from three off the pass out, then blowing by guys from 30 to the basket..gave up the ball to guys who had good looks..

I also think the bigs did a nice job passing out and threading fast break passes..
