interested to see how rest of the team does Friday v Nets.. I'm guessing they will look to make him a passer.

Going to steal a phrase from the youngons these days but this dude is just built different. This guy wants to set you aflame, watch you burn, and piss on your ashes. If anything, teams are going to see Cleveland on the schedule and know it's going to be a damn dog fight for them to get a W.
When the fans come back after COVID Collin is going to put asses in seats home and away.

Cavs won the Kyrie trade.

Altman deserves a lot of credit for taking Sexton with the 8th pick. Turning out to be a home run.

Important to remember...young guys usually take some TIME to develop. Garland already looks a lot better in year 2..and maybe next year he makes a bigger leap(staying healthy is a big thing with him though). Okoro already shows flashes..and is a tenacious defender. He's probably the most raw prospect out out of the 3 lotto picks we've had.

I am starting to have real trust in the Cavs FO. They're building up assets. Making good, smart draft picks. Good coaching staff in place and they're starting to show a real penchant for DEVELOPING TALENT.

We have a really bright future. We have a least 1 young absolute stud, and two top 5 picks in the last two years who have both already shown some really nice flashes.

Agreed on everything, but it seems you might be selling Garland short. I think he’s above nice flashes - almost as promising as Sexton. His basketball IQ and feel are incredible, as evidenced by his on the floor vs off the floor numbers with and without Sexton. They really jump off the page.

Him nearly leading Alabama to win a game playing 3 on 5 for almost an entire 4th quarter... that really sticks with me. He doesn't care who is on the other side or the odds... he goes balls out no matter what and doesn't make excuses.

Hell he prefers it that way.

Like I said in the game thread, he was hoping the Nets would be able to take it to quintuple OT just so he could keep shitting all over them.

I don't know that I've ever liked a player more than Sexton. And that includes Billy Preston.

And gonna be saying the same thing two years from now about Okoro.

Due to injuries and COVID he hasn't really had an opportunity to show consistently how good he really is. Sexton's been a beast really going back almost a season and a half now. Guards really start to come on big time in years 3 and 4, IMO. I like Garland a lot, trust me, I'm not ever gonna sell him short. I'm looking forward to what I think could be a really exciting year of growth. All we need now is a 6'9 wing that can defend 1-5, shoot threes, and create some offense. What's that LeBron guy doing these days? (jk)

Who else have watched the highlights like 10 times besides me lol
Highlights, plus I have been watching every talking head talk about it lol

It's annoying that they think it's just a reflection of the Nets bad defense...and that they all say the Cavs are the worst offense (true, but even Sexton has only played 9 of 14 games...Garland in 6 of 14...Love 2 of 14).

Oh well, rematch on Friday night. Let's go Young Bull

I was confused last night thinking why Sexton’s 27.0 ppg stats didn’t get him on the top 10 list then realized he hasn’t qualified yet. Beal (crazy 34.0 ppg) qualified with 10 games so maybe one more game for Sexton before achieving that goal.

Plus Koby brought in Jarrett Allen who fits our team like a glove.

Prince actually had the highest +/- on the team last night.

Amazing that we’re playing such good team D with a bunch of kids and two playing their first game as Cavaliers. We looked like a well-oiled machine out there while some of the media write ups are going on about how Brooklyn needs time to get it together and Kyrie was out for seven games. Never mind that we were missing some players and Sexton was out five games, but screw it - we have a no bullshit culture and they’ve got players who never lack for grievances. Tough to get by on the meager amount they’re all paid.

Looks like we have a bunch of coachable players (especially the yoots) and JB is coaching them up big time. For any players that aren’t willing or able to be coached and get with the program - well, I would advise renting not buying.

I just remember how much vets and certain people in the organization would talk about Sexton. Vets were saying he wasn't listening to them at all. Lue didn't want to play him for the minutes the front office wanted. There were front office people leaking to the media that they only saw Sexton as a sixth man after his rookie season. We heard for a while that they kept trying to get him to pick up more hobbies and not be so into basketball.

Everyone has a different development and maturing path. I think you have to look at the bright spot with young players and hope for the best. It's kind of the reason why I'm not on the train of just dump KPJ now and move on. I bet there were people in the organization who would have trade Sexton away in the first year and a half to get someone who had hit their peak. I also bet their would have been players that would have praised the decision.

Sexton was listening to vets, coaches and seniors and that's the reason why he made his weaknesses into strengths within a season.

This is why his shooting, passing, defense and court demeanor is much improved since his rookie year.

KPJ doesn't have that attitude...
