How far did Lowry and Van Vleet get a couple years ago? How far will Conley and Mitchell get Utah?
Yep Mitchell is currently leading the Jazz to the best record in the Western Conf. Oh and he's also the same size as Sexton. As I've said before this team is still incomplete. Allen, Nance, and Okoro is a decent start building around the guards but obviously we still need a few more pieces of the puzzle.

Quite a few.

Historically: Isaiah & Dumars. Mo Cheeks & Andrew Toney.
Current: Dame & CJ. Conley & Mitchell. Lowry & Van Vleet.
Joe Dumars and Andrew Toney were both 6’3 and neither of our guards have their defensive intensity

lol... not letting you escape this one. let me put that in winning percentage.

year 1: 22% winning percentage
year 2: 34% winning percentage
year 3: 46% winning percentage

see how this put seasons in perspective? at the rate the cavs is going, sexton has doubled his winning percentage from his rookie year, and that is without kevin love for most of season three. he has also upped his points, 2pt percentage and assists. there are nights where he looks like the best player on the floor, for both teams. just look at the raptors game, he looked better than both lowry and van vleet and continued to bail out the cavs during scoring droughts and almost wasted possessions.

i recognize your criticisms as points for improvement, yes, sexton needs to be better at all those things. but to accuse him of not playing winning basketball? the stats and eye test say otherwise.
Where is the 46% coming from out of curiosity?

Superstar Dame and sharpshooter CJ could only get you so far... which isn't far at all.

And our youngin's aren't them.
That was absolutely botched by their FO. The talent is there with those two.

Collin's stats speak for themselves. He's gonna be an all star in the next few years. For those saying he's too predictable on offense, I disagree. His quickness is elite & he's a match-up nightmare for opposing teams.

I don’t post much but I agree stay the course. If we land in this draft I think Okoro is the guy coming off the bench. Maybe Nance is the starting PF and Kevin Love is the 6th man next year. This team feels one year out from making waves.

about last night...

So the Cavs offense was a ton better last night than vs the Kings (admittedly, an NBA defensive juggernaut, currently ranked 30th in Defensive Rating in the NBA).

The ball moved, the floor was spaced by and large, teammates looked for each other, etc., and late for the most part, the Cavs made winning plays down the stretch: they avoided turning it over, the secured the defensive rebound, they forced tough shots and got good looks vs tightened up defense.

The Bulls did them a ton of favors by kind of doing the opposite. Mr. Efficiency Zach LaVine missed some well defended looks as well as some open looks in the 2nd half after initially coming out and scoring like 18 points on 7 shots or something, turned the ball over, hit guys in awkward spots and basically looked for ways to turn a team game into 5 simultaneous games of 1 on 1.

It was ugly to watch.

Cavs players looked genuinely into it. I have a theory on this: it's because the ball was moving several times in the offense. They knew if they moved or got open, there was a good chance they'd get a good look or be able to play a role in the offense.

I was texting a friend and noted as much, saying that while this game wasn't damning on Collin's role with the team, the ball movement with the starters was noticeably better.

Nance is not a starter. He's only a starter because Mr Talc is always hurt and plus he doesn't space the floor at all.

He's shooting the same percentage from 3 this year as Kevin Love has in basically every season he's been a Cav.

I think Nance needs to be slightly less unselfish. Guys look up to him and he is still playing like a junior partner. Otherwise, he is totally awesome. I do want him rebounding like last night all the time
