You're argument doesn't make any sense.

Cam Payne has won at a higher level than Collin too. Has nothing to do with their individual abilities.

There wasn't an argument to be made

Actually, it was like drawing a land in the proverbial basketball competence sand:

If you believe basketball is an individual sport and the value of Collin Sexton's scoring is more than Mikal Bridges ability to play his role and contribute to winning more at every level, stand over there with Ozone

I don't give a rats ass about Collin's individual abilities. Actually, I dont care about any basketball players individual abilities. I only care about their ability to contribute to a collective that wins. Get back to me when the discussion is about that.

Respectfully, my lifelong fellow Cav fan.

(sidenote: what's up with all my RCF bro's attempting to dunk on me on the eve-eve of our season? :chuckle: )

First my brotha @narbar32 now @Cavatt

Neither of you is making my christmas card list

I can't slam on anyone with my bad knee...

Ive been one of Sexton's biggest defenders on this forum and I stand by most of what I have said in the past. I think Sexton the person, the worker is pretty much inarguably great. Sexton the player is a bit harder to define. As a cultural piece, I think he is very very important to what the Cavs are trying to build and given the skills he has shown on the court, a 4/90 deal or so is very fair.

JJJ is def overpaid but I have always been lower on him than the consensus. Mikal is underpaid, a more valuable prospect than Collin, but hopefully we can get Collin in a similar ballpark. For the record, I wanted Mikal Bridges on draft night and could easily be talked into a Collin for Mikal swap in 2k.

If we aren't going to get fair value for Collin in a trade now (which of course we won't), I say we treat it like the John Collins situation. There are a lot of similarities between the two players as high octane offensive players with middling defensive/utility prospects, a better developed shot than expected, and good team/culture guys. If we end up getting Collin on a similar deal in RFA I think that is 100% worth it.

I'm expecting Max or W&G to lace up and attempt to dunk on me next today. Ultimately, I blame @Man Called X

A big question is whether the front office and staff can develop a system
that maximizes talent while minimizing their shortcomings.

The current regime hasn't shown much competence to fit pieces
and style together for winning basketball.

Getting Mobley puts everyone on a shorter time clock . Be an
asset or see you later.

Upon further contemplation, I'm prepared to offer up a full-on 1:1:1 apples to apples to apples Sexton / Ricky Davis / Monta Ellis equivalency argument just as an olive branch to get back in your good graces. Blood is thicker than water, brother... It's even thicker than Collin's increasingly well-muscled build.

Add Ben Gordon on a 1:1:1:1 and you've got yourself a deal :chuckle:

You've encouraged these kids to try to dunk on me with your incessant references to Anthony Randolph, the GOAT of Euroleague

Check your inbox, btw
If you'd stop being so damn bullish on sleepy Darius, I'll stop ragging on you for Randolph.

I just don't think the kid has it. If he'd spend an off-season training with me, I could bring it out in him. Until then, he's doomed to mediocrity while my boy Sexton gonna wow some people this season.

Pretty clear the Cavs have been and are trying to trade Collin. Just not much demand for a 6th man.
The lack of clarity on his next contract is part of the demand issue for him. Once there is a static figure for his contract for the next 4-5 years(whether that happens in the next hour or next offseason), teams will be able to better determine if he's a fit for their roster as a starter or 6th man.
