Who said there was prestige in it?
The news cycle and social media makes it appear as big news. That's how it appeared to me and even led me to check what this select team is.

Then someone says "nah, it's not a big deal" and then a few guys get ruffled. So, what is it anyway?

Why do you keep coming back to some nonsense like people having beef with Ozone?
  1. Someone posted the tweet announcing that Garland was chosen for the US Select Team.
  2. Ozone felt the need to shit on everyone who was on the Select Team, and finished off with this pearl of stupidity: "This is obviously the worst of the bunch but the "select" part is pretty loose lol"
  3. Absolutely nothing else happened. Nobody ever said it was a great honor. There wasn't a single comment made about Garland between the announcement and Ozone's response
So, what are we missing? Are there magic posts that you have access to or something?

The issue is with the content--not the person. To spin up this fairy tale world where we all were fawning over Garland being chosen to the Select Team is just delusional. People need to stop fighting ghosts and start actually discussing reality.

The reality is that absolutely nobody has said that Garland's selection is a great honor, or means he's a stud, or there's prestige, accolades or anything like that.

When the Select Team was initially announced, there were some posters who attached significance to Sexton's omission. But it was then pointed out by other posters that if you reviewed the list of those who did make the roster, there clearly were factors other than just playing ability that mattered, so the "only the best make the Select Team" argument was dropped. But that was days ago. Everyone seemed to have moved on.

So when someone starts making strawman Select Team arguments again, it gets annoying.

If you think that’s all he did (when nobody was saying it was a big deal) then I guess we’re done here.

Then let's call it done mate, i was not looking beyond that and if there's something more, i ain't touching it. So good day to you and we'll carry on.

I won't get in between whatever you guys beef with ozone is. That select team is just that, a selection of players. I dont see any prestige in that. Garland needs the reps though so, good for him.

Im more excited for klove. I hope he turns heads and become tradeable next season.
I see some prestige in it. Garland was thought well enough to be invited. I think it will be very beneficial to him. Extra practices with like talented players and games vs the Olympic team I am glad Garland is there

Looks like Garland will be joining the Select team.

Pretty big honor for a guy that many here felt would not even play a game for, much less start for the Cavs, in the first place.

Have to look at this as an intentional slight to Sexton as well.

I mean...sure there is. I didn't get invited, so I assume there is some selectivity.

The debate about Garland - and about Sexton for that matter -- is whether they are both starters in this league, and if so, are they legitimately potential all-star level players. The bar for the Select Team is clearly lower than that, so it doesn't tell us much.

What’s your address? I’ll confirm with the league office that it didn’t get lost in the mail...

This will be a huge confidence booster for DG.

No, that isn't the issue at all.

The issue is that you keep spamming the same point, repeatedly. And as has been pointed out in this instance, you're not even countering actual arguments being made by other people. You're playing contrarian without adding any new analysis or commentary of actual substance. You apparently just want to annoy other posters just for the fun of it.

That's what the issue is.
lol that is not the intent unless of course that is deemed by me to be their intent
The truth is there are few if any actual conversations that are based on anything factual.
I guess people are in denial about what the difference between truth and educated assumption is.
