Ozone wasn't right. In fact, he didn't even argue a point. All he did was make an attempt to disparage Garland as he always does.

I don't think anybody thinks being on the select team is a great honor, but it is a great opportunity for Garland to work out with some of the best players in the world. That's what I'm excited about.

I have no idea what you mean by "the hate goes both ways" either.
If being on the select team is an “honor” is debatable
I do think it is a very good thing for garland however. For the reasons you mentioned.

I don’t think it would matter much for sexton. I think Collin thrives on perceiving he was snubbed

You do realize that I said in my post that it was NOT an honor, right?

I do think it would have been good for Sexton, but it doesn't seem like they were interested in NBA players that have been in the league for more than two seasons.

I also don't see why so many people seem to be keen on mentioning Sexton every time Garland is talked about and vice versa.

I am a fan of every player wearing a Cavs jersey and want them all to succeed at least while they wear the wine and gold. Yeah you can like a particular player but if you have to tear down another player on the team to make them better are they really that good?

Why ? Because they are both 6’1 guards who can’t play defense. There is going to have to be a choice made eventually. Just comes down to who is the right choice
I am not for trading sexton now because there is no reason to rush the decision
Make the draft choice. See how they all play together and go from there

Yeah I had to look up the other 2 never heard of them smh
The rub on here is if you dont like a particular player as much as the majority does then
you are a hater or a clown or an asshole lol
Player fans instead of Cavs fans seem the loudest and say the least

No, that isn't the issue at all.

The issue is that you keep spamming the same point, repeatedly. And as has been pointed out in this instance, you're not even countering actual arguments being made by other people. You're playing contrarian without adding any new analysis or commentary of actual substance. You apparently just want to annoy other posters just for the fun of it.

That's what the issue is.

We’re in the Garland thread right now. Sexton has nothing to do with the topic.

They don’t play the same position and each of their successes/failures have nothing to do with the other.

@avs2000 Of course it’s a team sport, but we have a lot of people who can’t help but go “well, what about the other guy?” any time one of them is discussed. The current topic (Garland being on the Select Team) has absolutely nothing to do with Sexton, yet a ton of people can't stop talking about how this is either meaningless because Sexton wasn't asked or how it's a sign of Sexton's value. Why does Sexton need to be mentioned at all?

It’s really easy to talk about the strengths, weaknesses, accomplishments, and progression of each player without mentioning the other.

But they have to fit together. Sexton and Garland are both talented and both have parts of their game to develop
The question is how/if they can thrive on the same team. That’s all. I have no bone to pick with garland. I hope he becomes an All-Star. I hope they both do
I think we will have a better idea on team makeup after the draft

That's an incredibly valid topic to discuss, but there is no reason to mention Sexton when talking about Garland being on the Select team.

I won't get in between whatever you guys beef with ozone is. That select team is just that, a selection of players. I dont see any prestige in that. Garland needs the reps though so, good for him.

Im more excited for klove. I hope he turns heads and become tradeable next season.

This is a good opportunity for DG to be around an elite PG in Dame Lillard. I wanted him to workout with a few this summer and he gets a chance to. How is being on the select team a bad thing?

Who said there was prestige in it?

Why do you keep coming back to some nonsense like people having beef with Ozone?
  1. Someone posted the tweet announcing that Garland was chosen for the US Select Team.
  2. Ozone shat on people who were on the Select Team, and finished off with this pearl of stupidity: "This is obviously the worst of the bunch but the "select" part is pretty loose lol"
  3. Absolutely nothing else happened. Nobody ever said it was a great honor. There wasn't a single comment made about Garland between the announcement and Ozone's response
So, what are we missing? Are there magic posts that you have access to or something?

The issue is with the content--not the person. To spin up this fairy tale world where we all were fawning over Garland being chosen to the Select Team is just delusional. People need to stop fighting ghosts and start actually discussing reality.

The reality is that absolutely nobody has said that Garland's selection is a great honor, or means he's a stud, or there's prestige, accolades or anything like that.

Wow... this will be my last reply on the subject, if it is all you say it is, why get offended when someone says the "selection is not a big deal"? It is not a big deal right? You even say it is.
