Collin just put up a damn good game 2 games into his sophomore season, he has times where he is reckless or misses the pass, I feel there's times he doesnt even look at Garland, but you cant say the kid isnt trying his ass off, learning, getting better, and doing pretty damn good on a lottery team that's already had 2 head coaches and is now asked to share with a #4 draft pick.

Better reads tonight too. He is 20. He is improving his playmaking. He can be a 2 guard if he defends like this and an make those good decisions.

Garland was also good tonight. The both had trouble with Brogdan when he got his shoulder in.

Loved the way Sexton competed on d. He also tried to push really hard as much as he could. Great 1-2 punch from Sexland tonight.

Garland is going to be really good. He needs to get stronger and get Reps up. Love the way he plays. Mature but still making rookie mistakes that will be easy to remedy.

I'm sure that if you search through the archives of this site, I have at least a post or two saying that the Cavs should have looked to take a more finished/known product like Jarrett Culver in last June's draft. I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that's why others get paid millions of dollars to evaluate these guys, while I've never earned a dime at it.

I'm still leery of Garland's chances of staying healthy long-term, but the kid has it. Handles, vision, ability to finish with either hand, range out to the parking lot. Get that kid a year or two in an NBA conditioning program so that he is stronger, and the upside is huge.

Garland can freeze time when he gets into the paint. It actually is reminiscent of Harden. I am so pumped to have this guy.

He even confused me and I have an over head view! I don't think any defender will want to chase him around the court during the RS soon enough. It's too much.

He is at 19 USG%. Young is at 38%. I want Garland at 23-24 this season hopefully.

Lol, he is so fun to watch. First time, i'm like fuck the stats.

You were confused. Never mind.

I'll just say that it hurts me to see SGA become a star when I had him as by far the best prospect @ our range and above player picked way ahead of him like Bagley, Ayton.

I wish Sexton became great, I do, but it sucks when it was obvious SGA was the better pick. And I don't care that he said that he only wanted to play for the Clippers. Here, he is playing for OKC and he looks damn happy. Him and Garland would have been crazy.
He did NOT want to play here. Not sure what else you want....

He did not want to play anywhere but the Clippers as he didn't work out for any other team. That did not mean that realistically he wouldn't play for you, or cause trouble. That was most likely agent talk. Evidence is that he looks quite happy leading OKC.

Cavs did not have SGA high on their draft board regardless. They only used him as trade bait when we got closer to draft night to get more picks out of Clippers/Hornets. Facts.

SGA was under scouted.

Also who knows what our coaching staff last season would have done to him. I also think SGA is overrated by some people. Namely @Sir'Dom Pointer ...

Currently scoring 27 a game on 50% shooting and most of his shots come inside the paint. What he is doing is sustainable. Not 27 points per game sustainable. 20-22 on good TS%.

He is going to be one of the best PGs in the league.

I am going to say he maxes out at 16-18 PPG this season. He will eventually start missing some of the shots hes making. Especially the three ball. Hes a very good player. But I don't ever see him being a true franchise cornerstone. Really nice Secondary option. But not a first option type. Not a natural enough scorer for that.

He does not need a 3 ball in order to put up efficient scoring. He can get to the lane and finish with either hand pretty easily because he is so long and shifty. Even if his 3 ball regresses, and it will as his percentages are not realistic, he will still score on high TS% because of his ability to draw fouls and how efficient he is at the rim, and how easily he gets there.

Reason he only scored 10 points a game last season is because of usage. This season if he continues to dominate the ball he will score 20+ a game.

I will say that Sexton looked better to start the game as a distributor.

He is like an Android that gets firmware updates every now and then. Don't know what to expect of him. He is an enigma.

Its 2019. You need a consistent three ball if your playing guard unless your name is Ben Simmons.
