Fuck and I liked Rui more then most on this board lol

I think I loved him the most especially I know him since he was in high school.

I wished we had Garland come off the bench and learn like Porter. Garland is still technically a college kid as he only played 5 games in college, more like he went to the NBA straight from high school. I mean Shaun Livingston came to the NBA from high school and struggled the very beginning. Of course injuries hurt him but he was able to have a great career with GS in his role. Not saying Garland will just have a role but it is going to take time for him to develop. I still see him hesitate and he gets frustrated when he misses wide open shots. He is still a young kid. I think it would be best for him to come from bench and have Porter start. Imagine when Windler gets healthy and up to speed - great to have a player like Garland and Windler off the bench and develop. I feel the staff does not want Garland to lose confidence if he goes to the bench but our staff and Garland needs to realize that is better for his future and develop his game to gain further confidence.

Garland needs to come off the bench. Hell I'd send him to develop in the g league but that might be a little drastic for a 5th overall pick. The Cavs need to find a veteran pg not named Delly to stabilize things for awhile. Garland is averaging 1 assist over the last 5 games which is unacceptable for a starting pg.

He really can't defend. Has ok instincts there, but 0 toughness and no strength. I think running the bench and keeping the ball in his hands is probably the best move. Have him work with Delly off the ball, and he can get up his shots, work on his floater, and go against slightly worse competition.

Porter can at least replace his palymaking in the starting unit and he can score much better. I think he is a better running mate for Sexton's pace too. I would also let Cedi run more plays. Cedi had 7 assists last night. He needs to be more involved in playmaking if Garland is going to be averaging fewer assists than Sexton.

Whether either Sexton or Garland is a bust is not the right question. I don't have the answer to either. Whether they can play together is the question, and I would say probably a little bit, but not for starters minutes together, and definitely not at the moment.

He also has zero athleticism and bad body language on the court which is the most disappointing thing for me. I'm hoping he's not a bust but have serious doubts. At this point I wonder if throwing him out there is doing more harm than good to his confidence. If he's going to average 1 assist a game ( like he has in the past five games) then he probably shouldn't be in the starting lineup.

anyways, before KPJ had a nice game against the Rockets, DG did the same with 21 pts 5 triples and I believe 6 assist and this thread was quiet.

Sexton is averaging 2.4 assists over his last 5, Garland is averaging 1.4.
