Couple times this season he makes a couple at the start then one goes in and out then he loses the plot from there

anyways, before KPJ had a nice game against the Rockets, DG did the same with 21 pts 5 triples and I believe 6 assist and this thread was quiet.

I don’t take anything anyone say in this thread seriously. like I said the same thing DG going through Sexton went through, but now Sexton is untouchable with criticism because “effort”

First off Sexton is hardly "untouchable". We all know Collin has no court vision at all.
How is it nitpicking or making stuff up when we state the obvious about Garland? He has no athleticism. He has bad body language. He is averaging 2.6 turnovers and 2 assists over his last 10 games. He is a weak defender. He plays timid.

I watch all the Cavaliers games. Don't see the bad body language people keep trying to make stick.
Garland also CONTEST SHOTS despite not being the best defender.
He's a rookie playing with Love/TT. How aggressive you think he's going to be? He's at the bottom of the pecking order.
Like I said It'd be a lot better if fans would be real instead of nitpicking dumb shit.
I did like that DG to KPJ three. It was nice.

I thought overall he played a pretty good game. Yeah he allowed San Antonio back in with some rookie mistakes that were crucial, but that first half was one of his best.

Notice Beilein broke him and Sexton up taking Garland out early to play with the bench. Great move and that 2nd unit with Garland and the better defensive players played well. Porter played with the starters and he played well. Keep doing that.

How can you make that statement when he's basically coming out of high school..

Cause we already have the better PG on the roster who will end up being the better player on both ends too. Sexton will be a star. Garland is too frail and does not have the drive or urgency, or star DNA to get there the way it's looking. He's passive ass hell.

He'll be a sore to the eyes this year, but I think in a couple of years he'll end up better than Sexton... Just need to develop his body, mature and adjust his game to the NBA... Can't imagine how difficult it is for a teen with just 5 college games and being injured for practically a year to perform well in the pros... Just looking at him he has the natural skills and based on accounts hes a hardworker and a winner/team player... Need to be more patient with the kid before calling him a bust...

I think it is difficult to say who will be better, but I totally agree on your comments on his body. He looks like Jesus Shuttlesworth as a little kid getting bullied by his dad out there. He had the body of a child, and he is just really outmatched. He needs 1 year of strength training to get where Collin was last year, which was still not strong enough.

It's easy to compare him to KPJ and say "Hey KPJ is better", but his body is NBA ready and he looks stronger than a lot of vets. I'd say his athleticism has allowed KPJ to adjust to game speed faster too. Darius had 4 passes last night that were dead on target and were made without hesitation with great timing, and then he had maybe 4 that were lazy and were just picked off and were made too late which is why the Spurs got their hands on them.

I'm not a Garland hater but I do think he's at least a 2 year project who hasn't earned minutes yet. Physically he's just not ready. Maybe it's just a lack of confidence when he's on the court. I don't see how that is nitpicking at all. I'm really not expecting anything from him this season.
As for Sexton he's alot better athletically but he might be best suited for Clarkson's role off the bench so hopefully JC is traded soon. Collin might average 28/2/2 in his prime but his current lack of court vision is an issue. I still have my sig from before the draft. I wanted Ja from this draft which obviously couldn't happen after the lottery didn't fall our way. I had questions about Sexton as a PG last season and still do now.

I don't know if he loses confidence or just can't build on his good shooting. He could be passive or just real level headed.

It reminds me of George Hill when he was here. You can see some of the talent but it's not there enough to make the impact for the role he is asked to be. Hill makes an impact as the 3rd guard for the Bucks more than he did as a starter for the Cavs.

Some guys just don't have the personality to be a top option on a NBA team. I just hope that's not the case with Garland.

He's not an SF, PF, or C. His specialty is shooting. How much physical development does he need to be a shooter? I can understand having trouble on the defensive end or even driving and taking contact but right now he's even struggling from the 3 and easy 2s. Dude is suppose to be an elite shooter.

Just a odd mix right now with the youngsters paired with love. Tt delly a d clarkson
Would prefer to keep delly. Feel he is useful for the young guards but love tt knight clarkson got to go. Accumulate assets and/or some young talent already in league
