I sent you a PM.I don't think we are actually disagreeing. Do you think Garland is wants out or wants Collin traded?

Collin Sexton and Darius Garland keep showing signs they can be effective together
It’s been nearly two years since that night. And even though questions naturally remain about the viability this early into the process, Sexton and Garland already have a clever nickname (Sexland), genuinely like each other, wear matching shoes and are blossoming into one of the league’s most...www.cleveland.com
@red. Doesn't seem like lip service to me and appears (unless we're being fooled) that they're going to try the best to make it work even if they're wrong long-term (reference Lillard/McCollum and Lowry/VanVleet as example of success). He probably doesn't look up to him but brothers is good no? I'm just glad they didn't ask Garland if he saw Sexton as a father figure
I feel like they probably know deep down they're not going to be in the same backcourt for long but they also know their tandem isn't a top 5 reason on why they haven't had success. If there is a complicated relationship, I think it's between Sexton and the FO because I certainly think Garland has the keys to the franchise in their eyes,
Thanks.
This was my whole point though. They both show each other solidarity and support. A brotherhood. Not one looking up to the other. They both see the fans and media chatter.
I agree about the FO thing too. The Cavs would look a lot different right now with Michael Porter Jr instead of Collin Sexton.
Do you have an article stating that? I remember fans on this message board talking about his injuries and drop foot.Michael Porter Jr was probably never on the Cavs board at #8 because of his injury and the questionable long term consequences of him having drop foot. They couldn't start the rebuild with a player that was going to be sidelined for at least a year.
I feel like they wanted to start off the rebuild on the right foot and not have a potential bust with that pick especially since fans would always remember it was from the Kyrie trade. The bust potential for a scoring guard has to be the lowest of any position.
For me, drafting Sexton was the least questionable pick in terms of roster building for Koby with the 3 top 8 picks he has had.
You can not compare the Embiid situation to MPJ.Do you have an article stating that? I remember fans on this message board talking about his injuries and drop foot.
The bolded part is ridiculous. That thinking is why the Cavs shitted the bed on not drafting Embiid. The Cavs were not in position to compete, so why not take the player with the highest potential? Like I said Michael Porter Jr, Darius Garland and Tyrese Halliburton looks a lot better than what the Cavs currently have, IMO. I love the revised history too. Only person I seen pimping Sexton around draft time too was Rchfield

You skipped over everything I said. You stated what this message board was saying and tried to pass it off as what the Cavaliers put out. Have a good one. This is after the draft but it states he wouldn't be back to full strength until his 2nd season the NBA.
Michael Porter Jr.’s back injury, explained by a surgeon and a jelly doughnut
Here’s everything you need to know about Porter’s injury that caused him to slide in the NBA Draft.www.sbnation.com
I also remember there was some concern about his family history of injuries. I think his older sisters had injuries that ended their college careers. His brother had multiple ACL and MCL tears after MPJ was drafted.
I remember. Nobody really cared for Sexton until the second half of his rookie season and when the Cavs drafted Garland.Sure was. Loved the way he took the fight to Trae Young and I felt his tunnel vision winding down conference play and in the SEC tourney for Avery Johnson was probably a lack of trust in his inferior teammates.
The day after that game, I believe I posted here that Dan and whoever else flew to the game better be prepared to draft Sexton instead of Trae Young
When he got to this level and looked lost at the point and looked much better playing off Delly after the trade, I knew we still needed a point guard.

I think you need to be clearer with what you are asking. I took it as the injury history stuff. I'll admit I can't find any articles that clearly states that but I do feel like the narrative was out there beyond this message board. Here is an article from Fedor talking about MPJ last year and the decision to pick Sexton. It's the closest I could find.
"The Cavs didn’t know if Sexton would become an All-Star in the future, but they were convinced he wouldn’t fail. They needed that security, especially with a dearth of young talent and a pick set to jumpstart the rebuild. Not every team was in the same position as the Nuggets, able to take such a massive risk at the end of the lottery."
Do Cleveland Cavaliers regret not drafting Michael Porter Jr. in 2018? Hey, Chris!
There’s no denying Porter’s talent. That was never in question. But it’s fair to wonder if there’s some recency bias here.www.cleveland.com
I think the point about Denver is a great one. They routinely *after their core was in place* took massive swings on hurt guys liek Bol bol and MPJ. Hampton, who slipped was part of the package for Gordon.
It's a lot easier taking that risk when you already have Joker. After losing major value on Thomas, having MPJ turn out to be Luke Jackson wasn't a good calculated risk.
