Love Dean. Love his fit on this team. .....when he's healthy.

Cavs have to make it a priority in the offseason to upgrade from Dean.

You can't be a 15 minute a night player and be this regularly banged up.

His primary job is to fill in when one of the 35 minute a night guys is out. And he's out too much to be that.

And they can't get hurt while out on a long maternity leave. What the fuck is that about?

Hopefully he was watching tonight and comes back significantly more aggressive. Otherwise….. he may quickly find himself one further step down in that rotation.

Morris is already an offensive upgrade. Not sure about defensively, I doubt he'll give the kind of effort Wade does. But he'll play smart defense, can see it after one game.

It will be interesting to see if we ever throw the lineup out there, but I think you can get away with a Wade, Morris, Allen frontcourt against the right lineup.

One thing that definitely stood out tonight in terms of Morris vs. Wade is that when a defender was closing out on Morris, he'd take his one dribble, sidestep, and get an open look. Hopefully, Wade can pick up on some of those things in practice because it'd open up a lot of things for him offensively.

It'd be great if he was better at attacking the closeout with his dribble, but if he can just learn some of those tricks from Morris he can become a much more effective offensive player. He too often freezes in the face of the closeout and either gives it up too quick or just doesn't know what to do.

Is he actually hurt now? I didn't see that

Yeah. He apparently somehow headed into a one week paternity leave 100% healthy and came off it too injured to play. Still waiting for some kind of explanation from the team on this.

Regardless, after watching Morris play last night, I'm not sure I'm not as concerned about the situation anymore.

Would love to see that lineup with DM & Strus. Wade can cover most perimeter guys. Morris brings muscle and attitude. Everyone but Allen shoots the 3 at a high level. Good passers. Good rebounders. Switchable and all 5 play physical defense.

I just like the idea of having LeVert as a secondary ball-handler in that lineup as he’s good at setting up bigs off the drive and also good at finding shooters. I’m sure Strus would be good as wel, but LeVert would help take pressure off Mitchell as a ball-handler and wouldn’t give up anything defensively.

Lot of odd knee injuries this year.

If anyone here truly is a Dean Wade insider then now would be a good time to prove there's any value to that, by explaining how he came back from paternity leave with a bad knee. Also, in case I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but congrats to the new father. He seems to be keeping it out of the public domain.

There would have been one, but unfortunately the constant fighting in this thread has claimed victims.

CK may be on vacation, but people would do well to note that he most certainly was not the only offender and that from now on scrutiny will be applied that otherwise is not present on other player threads.

Morris played 20 minutes, and took 7 shots. I did a little more research today, and found that Dean has played 20 minutes or more 31 times this season. And he is averaging 5.3 shots per game in those 31 games. Not a drastically different number than Morris took.

More importantly, the Cavs are 24-7 in the 31 games Dean has played 20 or more minutes. That is 17 games over .500. Right now the team is 18 games over .500. Coincidence? I think not.

CK and I have posted many times the incredible record the Cavs have when Dean see's the floor for 20+ minutes over the past couple of seasons. Last year I think many of you thought is was just a fluke coincidence. Yet the trend continues.
