Morris played 20 minutes, and took 7 shots. I did a little more research today, and found that Dean has played 20 minutes or more 31 times this season. And he is averaging 5.3 shots per game in those 31 games. Not a drastically different number than Morris took.

More importantly, the Cavs are 24-7 in the 31 games Dean has played 20 or more minutes. That is 17 games over .500. Right now the team is 18 games over .500. Coincidence? I think not.

CK and I have posted many times the incredible record the Cavs have when Dean see's the floor for 20+ minutes over the past couple of seasons. Last year I think many of you thought is was just a fluke coincidence. Yet the trend continues.
So, how did he hurt his knee while on paternity leave? Got any insights on that?

I hurt my back ( seriously enough to go to the emergency room ) staying home with my second he was not as heavy as the first, but bending into the portacrib brought me too my knees.. And Deaner is 8 inches taller than me!

Two people are now on vacation for not taking moderator guidance.

Accept the guidance if it comes your way.

His defense is crazy. For real he is incredibly mobile and moves like a wing at 6'9" or 10. He guards guards to centers.

I'm not sure the defense really works without him.

Wade might not be a better defender than Mobley, but he has 100% been better than him for stretches this season. He and Okoro just made teams miserable for a month.

No insider info. This is pure gut feeling/speculation. I don't think Dean's knee is hurt.

I'm probably projecting, but I was with my daughter at the hospital for a week while they put her under the lights. She came out upside down and got squished pretty hard as a result. It wasn't too serious but I wasn't going to leave and I didn't go back to work as fast as I thought I would.

I think everyone is picking up on a vibe. I hope I am totally wrong and Wade and family are all good. Send some prayers or good vibes out to him in any case. New parents need it no matter what.

The only crack in your hypothesis is that Dean joined the team in Houston

I hope everything is okay with the new baby. You could be right, there could be some complications or whatever. I'd prefer him to have a sore knee to that. But I would still want to know why he had that sore knee.

I’m, like everyone, hoping it really is a sore knee. If it is, his time out is not the worst thing for us. We needed to find minutes to re-acclimate TT and see how Morris fits anyway. With our schedule and Mobley, Strus & DM hurt we were probably sinking to the 4 or 5 seed regardless. Dean has tended to break down physically toward the end of the year. If this allows him to be mostly healthy in April, it may end up a blessing in disguise.

Is this the same knee he had surgery on in 2022?

So it's a mystery? Knee vs Paternity leave? Great timing what with everyone else that's out. Getting to be like the Browns 2023 season with all the injuries. Woe is CLE sports.

Is anyone else worried that when Wade comes back, his 3pt shot will have left him again?

This is a guy who already struggles with confidence and passes up shots after he's missed a couple...not playing for 3 weeks is not likely to improve anything in that regard.
