There is nothing about his game I don’t like…
He’s been damn good in these 2 starts. His comfort at the 3 seems to be growing. He looked good with the ball in his hands tonight.

Following the game threads, it appears Wade has begun the last two games passively, but then has rallied and come up big in each when he's subbed back in the game. His natural element is role player, so he's not a typical starter, but he does well in assisting the team when they need it the most. He should always be kept around as insurance and help. He'll never be as skilled offensively as Markk or Love, but he can have stretches as a reserve where he hits timely shots and makes big defensive plays, so he's a useful backup who can do what the team needs so long as he's not depended upon beyond his capability. Nothing wrong with having a team guy like him in a reserve role. JBB realizes this, which is why he never yanks Love or Markk when they're in slumps, and he never plays Wade long in a position where he can't succeed, but gives him opportunity when it's the right time.

The Cavs need to keep developing him as a backup to Mobley after Love retires.

I see no reason why his trajectory doesn't have him becoming a rotation piece for someone at some point. For the time being he's doing a great job at providing quality depth.

Cavs essentially found 1st round pick production from an undrafted guy in the 2019 draft, a draft where they actually ended up with 3 1st round picks (Garland, Windler, Porter Jr).

Between all the drafted and undrafted guys in 2019 Dean ranks:

13th in 3P%
T-16th in BPM
T-18th in VORP
24th in Win Shares

He's even approaching the top 30 in total points scored, currently 38th.

Between him and Lamar, where the fuck has this player development been for the last 20 years. Credit to Koby and the coaching staff and player development staff.

Wade was a projected late first/early second until he broke his foot his junior year. Then he broke it again as a senior. So he was a risk most teams weren't willing to take. Koby taking a flyer on him turned out to be a smart gamble - If he didn't recover, all you'd wasted was a 2-way. If he healed, you basically got a free draft pick.

He broke his foot 2x I think. Pretty cool he has been healthy as an NBA player. WIndler has had the exact opposite. Never hurt in College.

NBA...

You’re full of shit too. His coach said he deserved a chance to play and contribute. And he gets that every few weeks. And then he does back and dutifully sits and cheers.

Nah. His coach said that Dean Wade was "prime Kevin Love plus defense." Happy to gravedig if there's doubt, but I remember that quote specifically.
