He was good in the loss to the Pistons, but awful tonight: 0 points and 1 rebound as a starter in 19 minutes. I don't understand why he's the one Cavalier immune to criticism here. Windler, Okoro, Cedi get lots of it...people will even complain about JA and Mobley not rebounding, but Wade gets a free pass. I don't get it.
He disappeared tonight. Couldn't hit a shot. Go figure. Probably explains a lot of the DNP/Coach's decisions.

He’ll be back under 10 points per 36 minutes which is terrible and only better than Pangos and Davis on the current roster. Had a really nice game last night but that’s not common for him. Not an NBA rotation player but ok for 11th or 12th man.

Dean Wade can start on a title contender for his defense alone….

Not to mention his hair….

His offense will come around… He’s fine with a scoring/playmaking guard out there..,

Note to Wade: when you have an open 3pt shot, you do NOT throw it to Rajon Rondo in the corner. I don't give a fuck if you're 0-3. You take the shot, every single time.

If Rondo gives you shit, you can remind the dude that next year, he'll be playing at the YMCA, wishing he still had NBA ballboys to torment.

Wade could be a regular rotation backup. His defense and shooting are pretty valuable. He’s not really supposed to score for us.I was listening to Van Gundy call the Warriors\Nets game. He said every good NBA team has to have a low shot ball-mover. It’s pretty clear that that is the role he’s been given with the Cavs. His job is to play defense, make sure the ball isn’t sticking, get the ball to the scorers, and shoot when open - in that order.
My gripe with Wade is the inconsistency on offense. He’s always good and engaged on D, but some nights it looks like he couldn’t care less if he scores. His bad averages come from games like last night when puts up 0 - who puts up 0 in the NBA? He honestly needs to learn from some of the vets about how important stats are for your career. Even if it’s a forced bucket or a meaningless rebound, it still shows up on the stat sheet.

He's done this a couple times now ...

How the hell do we convince the dude to ignore his deferential instincts on the perimeter? He's clearly a decent shooter who usually has a height advantage over 3's, and can even drive and kick (though he isn't much of a threat to actually finish the drive).

Someone needs to forcibly extract some of Kev's ego and give him a fresh injection of moxy..

His defense is still a pleasant surprise, though. He's owed $1.7 mil this year and $1.9 mil next. We could do FAR worse for guys earning that much in 2022.

We need a sports psychologist to come in and start working on Wade and Windler to overcome whatever it is that has those guys so tentative and lacking in trust and confidence.

He did not disappear last night. He was great on the defensive end. On the offensive end, the Cavs played one-on-one ball for nearly the entire game. That is what took him out on that end. Cavs have been great at sharing the ball nearly all season. But not last night. Probably because Garland did not play. Both point guards last night dribbled much of the shot clock away, and what they didn't Osman did. That's not Dean's style of play. Never has been.

There is more to the game than scoring. The style of ball you have all been gushing over all season... sharing the ball, making the extra pass... that is his game. Winning basketball. That is his game.

Not the one-on-one stuff we saw last night.

In 19 minutes he was 0 for 5 from 3 point range and that hurt the team. He did his usual good stuff in other areas but he couldn't hit a shot, and we needed some guys to hit some shots. He only got one rebound, not his best outing on the boards either.

Combine that with Cedi not being able to hit anything from outside and it allowed them to pack the paint which hurt our inside game. Love started the game ice cold from outside but he found his range, thankfully, or we would have certainly lost.

Everyone was cold from deep. There was no flow to the game because of the one-on-one play. It happens. As far as missing shots. That happens too. Not everyone makes every single shot they shoot. Not even Curry. He averages a respectable percentage. Over the long haul, the percentages pretty well even out. He had just came off of a very hot streak. No player is gonna make all of them. As much as we want them too.

If our team was healthy Wade wouldn’t get minutes. I see him as a 10th man on a good team, and we’re a good team currently banged up. He’s an occasional starter and can provide some good minutes off the bench but against certain teams he doesn’t do well. He certainly worth keeping around like Stevens but unlike Windler and Pangos.

Wade is so good. I am really happy with what he gives us out there and think he is one of the best 10th men in the NBA. Hope he sticks aroun dfor a lng time

Being able to come through when the team needs a bucket is what separates the heavy rotation players from the ones who are injury insurance and depth role players. I think in time Wade will become a more reliable shooter and when that happens he'll move up the ladder into becoming a regular rotation piece. It's disappointing when all our outside shooters go cold at the same time, Wade needs to be a little more consistent contributing some scoring when we need it.

Yep. I see some people defending his lack of scoring. But you can't defend 1 rebound in 19 minutes, especially as much as we were killed on the boards last night. Wade is a team player, and a good defender. But he's a negative in many other important aspects. A power forward who's a tentative and inconsistent scorer, and a weak rebounder, isn't starter material.

He’s 10 & 6 per 36 this season. That may be good enough when Sugarcreek meets Lancaster in the Amish Finals but it’s not good enough for a rotation player in the NBA.
