Demarcus Cousins: Refuses to be Barkley, Ewing and Malone

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cousins before injury is dead. Low demand with ring chasing. I don't think it moves the needle much. When Curry begins to decline they got problems.

It boggles my mind that people think nobody came here because LeBron can't recruit and Drayomnd can. They are an automatic ring in your resume, they are in a nice city (sorry Cleveland, but you know what i mean), meanwhile Cleveland had no Cap Space, it's a small market... How can you even compare, Golden State is just a much better option in the eyes of pretty much everyone, it has nothing to do with LeBron or Draymond fuckin Green being good or bad recruiters

And of course you look around the internet here and there and find there's actually people in support of this horse shit. People fucking amaze me man . . .

I feel like it's mostly media members who are saying "well what do you expect the Warriors to do not sign him" and are going to cover the league regardless. A lot of media are saying "well you'll still watch it" but honestly outside of the Cavs I might not watch the league as much. That might not mean much as I'm just one person but how the hell can the league even attract new fans who aren't just going to be Warriors bandwagoners? I guess in their eyes it doesn't matter as long as people buy the merchandise and watch the games.

I don't know how a fan of the other 29 teams in the league can be happy or ok with this. People who said they didn't think the KD move was weak are saying how this move is terrible for the league.

Well, Draymond did take less than he could have on his contract a full year before KD hit FA, in an attempt to create a situation where they could get him. There's a great Zach Lowe article about how GS was built around Draymonds sacrifice. His agent even called him multiple times to make sure Draymond was 100 pct about the decision, cuz it was such a rare request for a player to make. Draymond is quoted in the article as saying that a few million doesn't change his neighborhood but winning a ton of chips does.

So yea I'd say hes a pretty good recruiter. Did more than what most players do to bring guys to his team.

The Warriors are great at getting star players to abandon all their pride to win tainted, meaningless rings. Good for them.

I would have been angry at this last year. Now I am seeing the funny side, another team will have the pleasure of being the clowns for the preening dancing show at the end of the season. Poor Houston, that contract for CP3 must be looking a little excessive right about now.

Warriors against the Dream Team, who wins? This keeps up and it will be a legitimate question.

If you join the Warriors, you are in for a continual dicksucking by the media. Look at the praise showered on Livingston and David West. People talk about Iggy like he is better than Lebron. They make Jordan Bell and Mcgee look awesome.

On the other hand, if you play with Lebron, you get shit on and scapegoated at every turn.

I mean let's face it, which team makes you look better? Lebron's team or the Warriors? Like no shit they have some better players, but why would you want to be shit on instead of celebrated?

Does it really have nothing to do with the way Lebron plays? I just wonder as we see our roleplayers miss shots in the playoffs while GS is playing so free if Lebron is really empowering his team mates. Looks to me like they all played like they had a gun to their heads in the playoffs.

This is the way he plays, and he can't seem to buy in or help install a system. He has rejected it at every turn. When it comes down to it, the other guys don't know how to help him. The only reason we won playing that style is that Kyrie is one of if not the best iso scorer in the league.

@czvo posted in another thread the report that showed Cousins actually didn't have any real offers. Portland tried to S&T him, but his team was calling all over the league, just trying to get the Full MLE and they couldn't get teams to even budge. No one wanted to be hard capped for Cousins (entailed in giving out the Full MLE); and teams didn't want to give up cap space.

The only teams that did were Golden State and Boston. And Golden State put on the full court press to convince Cousins he could rehab there...

We can hate all we want but the Warriors are indeed a cult.. Players wanna play in that atmosphere and that style and want to win...

Cousins is looking to get a quick ring, get his name off the list of non champions and then cash in... Perfect setup for him...

He can win his ring and then worry about getting paid and individual awards... Kinda Kyrie-ish... Cause I’m not sure Kyrie is concerned about winning now over other things ? Got his ring and he’s good to go...

I call bullshit that no other teams tried to sign him. You mean to tell me no team was willing to give him a 1+1 for 15-20M? Especially when he was going for a 75% discount? LOL. No reason the Pelicans wouldn't have offered that.

i was ticked off at lebron before this news but once i found out, i actually am relieved lebron is gone. instead of wasting more money and continuing to mortgage the future to have absolutely 0 chance at winning a ring, we can start our rebuild immediately and tank away since there is no point in trying to win now. time to get ourselves prepped for whenever this brainwashed Warriors team finally goes down (could be a long ways away)

Call me crazy, but even if Cousins wins the ring, that won't be enough to land him a spot in the HOF in my book.

The main thing that a lot of posters here have no clue is about is the off court investments they do with the tech giants in the bay. Which is what gives them an advantage over some other cities. Add to that, SF is a beautiful city, and right there is the perfect storm.

The city is beautiful. The fans dont deserve it though for sure.

Beat writer from NO said that the Pelicans offered more than MLE money for more years, but maybe he really is betting on himself and doesn't want to get tied to less than the max
