Denzel Valentine: Get lost

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Per NBA reference he has played 70% of his career minutes at SF. Including 94% of his minutes in 17-18 the only season he looked like an NBA player.

Considering he's widely thought of as a joke, being bested by cellular retail associates on their lunch break, it's pretty clear I'm right.

But, go ahead and argue the amount of time a dude is guarding a position (ineffectively), because of a dumbass coaches ineptitude and an inept GMs dumbassness, as a reason to continue the experiment. Just argue with someone else. It takes all of 45 seconds and some common sense to realize Denzel Valentine isn't a SF anywhere but your local YMCA.

He's not a SG either. Guards are too quick and SFs too big. He has spent the majority of his career at SF. At no point did I say he was effective. I said his best season was when he played 94% of his minutes at SF. I never said he was good.

He’s worse than Cedi..
So Cedi is moving on? Valentine was actually a better defender and net positive on the floor for the bulls.. Per 82 games, Cedi played 40% of the minutes at his positions, to Valentines 30% , but Valentine allowed an opponent 11 PER, while Cedi allows 20..

Not really arguing with you Max... I think this is a Titanic deck chair move. Cedi has had his shot, so new younger guy, is the right organizational move.. I would love to see us pry Chuma Okeke loose from Orlando and see if he has any game.

It’s so well known that this guy is so bad. What the hell? Cedi is better, Lamar Stevens is better. And this guy isn’t even at least taller or more athletic than the scraps we already have.

I don’t think it means Cedi is moving on at all, and that’s not Max. Max doesn’t post at all anymore.

@Wine and Gold had made about 20 posts in the last five years, and one of them was to tell us how bad Denzel Valentine is :chuckle:
I mean, I‘m just scratching my head at this signing. This isn’t a guy you guarantee anything to. Just, as an NBA caliber GM, you don’t make this move with this caliber of player. No reason to guarantee anything for this caliber of borderline roster cut line talent. To me, just an idiotic decision. The only plus I see in this move is that it’s not a major blunder. It’s just a bad move on a smaller level.. The long and short of it is… no other GM in the NBA was going to offer him anything like what we did.

The nicest thing I can say about the move is that I don’t really care what they do with the last few roster spots.

Just please, don’t parade him out there if everyone is a healthy.

Who again are projected to be the top three lottery picks in next year’s draft? Might as well start looking at them now.

W & G! It’s a good day, when W & G posts!

I share W & G’s opinion. I know it’s not my money being used to pay Pangos and Valentine. But I worry that it raises the threshold for letting these guys go, if/when someone better comes along. And, at this point, I don’t think Koby should be allowed to sign someone shorter than 6’6” or taller than 6’10”. I doubt it will take long to become apparent that a team without NBA wings can’t compete. And THEN what do you do? Just let the team play out the season and win 15-20 games? Seems kind of stupid way to spend 6 months.

Don’t you dare lump in Pangos with Valentine.

What I have notice is that Koby makes trades and no one knows about it till it happens and I do not judge a trade till a year after i see how it works out i am a cavs fan since they started and they have been a lot of enjoyment all these years.
