Ok, Ok, so much for welcome to Cleveland.
Nobody expects this guy to be the difference maker on a Finals team. But I can see why Koby wanted to give this guy a chance. As we know, our SF depth is questionable to say the least. The interesting FA all went elsewhere. So why Valentine?
He was probably the most highly awarded college player on our roster.
Awards: AP Player of the year
NABC Player of the year
Consensus 1st team All American
B1G Player of the year
B1G Tournament MOP
Julius Erving Award
B1G All Decade Team
Despite all that, he's been a flop as a pro.
But why is that? Lack of talent, or more like wrong place, wrong time.
Those collage awards say it's not lack of talent.
Maybe with a fresh start, a new organization, new, encouraging voices he can turn it around and be a useful player.
Sounds like usHe might be the worst swingman in the NBA. I'm not exaggerating.
bad ankles can't stay on the floor, mobility sucks all the time but at least he is 6'5 smh

Denzel Valentine isn't a SF, though...

I just don’t understand why we are giving MORE guaranteed $$ to more pint-sized guys. Why not just use G-Leaguers for these roster spots? Shouldn’t we maximize flexibility? And we STILL have only about 2-3 6’6”-6’10” wings on the team, none of whom should be starting for an NBA team.Ok, Ok, so much for welcome to Cleveland.

The summer’s theme - “You were a high draft pick that your drafting team gave up on after seeing you every day for years? We’ll take you and give you a multi year deal.”
Hes 6'4ish.
