I have had a crazy sports weekend. We know what the Cavs just did and Browns, but I am a Purdue almuni as many know and my football team just got into the championship game which is huge for Purdue, and my basketball team just beat #5 Gonzaga and #6 Duke to win a preseason Tourney.

Lots of fun this weekend for me watching sports.

On paper this is the ideal opponent for Watson to return against.

-29th ranked DVOA defense
-Indoors (Watson career QB rating indoors: 108.0, career QB rating outdoors: 99.0)
-Building he's extremely familiar and had a lot of success

My only concern is all the weirdness about the fact that it's Houston. All of Watson's off-the-field issues happened in Houston. He had a very public spat with ownership and literally chose to sit out a season rather than play for the franchise. The Texans fans are going to be all over him.

It kind of reminds me of LeBron's first trip back to Cleveland. The crowd was out for blood... but the Heat ended up smashing the lowly Cavs by 28.

I have no problem with those who are cheering loudly and supporting him.

Don't tell everyone else he's paid his dues. For many, that process starts with him admitting fault. He still hasn't done that.

Personally, I'll be rooting for the Browns to win, and by extension, rooting for him to do well... but it's going to feel like shit because of his behavior.

Topic for the other thread, but I agree. He needs to have a clean-up interview at some point before next season when things have settled down, and set some things straight.

Jake makes a tremendous point here. Do teams just stop trying to win backside to blow these up? You can’t really half commit, and if you do this, Watson can house it.
