Jim Donavon of Channel 3 news has reported on the Sports Segment tonight that Trent Dilfer is unhappy here and would welcome a trade. Donavon says he just isn't seeing eye to eye with Maurice Carthon and would be happier elsewhere.

Now THATS why we were looking at Harrington that changes everything...

I wish we would ditch Carthon the guy is an IDIOT grade A. I'll never forget him running a reverse on a 4th and 1 :thumbdown If he pulls that shit after adding LeCharles Bentley he should be run out of here by an angry mob. Wish we could have gotten Mike Martz to come in but he went to Detroit aka Hiroshima.

On the flipside Trent Dilfer sucks. He can't run and when he tries he almost moves backwards, and when he scrambles he waves the ball around as if it's burning his hand and he is trying to cool it down. He gets the ball either 20 yards shy of the destination or 15 yards out of bounds. Basically he is a nice guy but a terrible quarterback. We don't have the 00' Ravens defense to allow us to have Dilfer as a QB..

We want Dilfer out.... I think this is a perfect match then...

We still need a vet to sit by Charlie, whom Im not sold on.

And since mac is not sold on Frye we should all worry.

I dont know what Dilfer expected. He was brought here to mentor a young quaterback, well he got hurt and someone took his place. What he should do is realize that hes not going to start again in his career, and shut up and take his money.

You should worry.

Frye has a noodle for an arm, has no accuracy and because he is from Akron, we are all supposed to forget all of his short comings.

I loved him at Akron, ok, this is the NFL and he just doesn't have it. He makes poor reads, throws a crappy ball and we have big play recievers but he doesnt have the arm to make those connections.

One or the other has to happen, either we get rid of Rube and get a great RB or we get rid of Fyre and get someone with an arm.

He has a noodle of an arm but hes made every throw he has needed to make. I just dont get how you make that assumption after 5 games when he played on a horrible team.

This whole having a great arm talk in bs. As soon as Frye gets more pt and gets comfortable his so called "weak arm" and his "accuracy" will go down the toilet.

I thought Dilfer was supposed to be a great veteran leader who put the team first. What the hell is this guy whining about? He's an average vet QB who's better suited to be a backup at this point in his career.

I'm not sold on Frye yet and I hope the Browns aren't either. He's showed some potential but is far from a sure thing as the long term starter at QB. Mac is right about Frye's arm strength. He seems to float his deep passes and hasn't shown he can fire hard, quick passes into tight spots.

If Dilfer is dealt, Kerry Collins is still out there to bring in although he's been rumored as going to the Titans or Ravens depending on the McNair situation. Collins isn't great but better than Dilfer and does have a strong arm.

I wouldn't have mind trying to deal a few 4th's or something to get into the 2nd to nab Kellen Clemons..

Cali,

Charlie's arm strength is the reason Braylon won't start the season in uniform....

He underthrew a freaking ball and you blame him for it. You are clueless.

Do you remember when Dennis Northcutt caught the td pass against the Titans or when Bryant caught the pass against the Steelers on sunday night, where were those balls, BEHIND THE FREAKING RECIEVER. When Peyton Manning does the same thing people want to hale him king, but when Frye does it he has a weak arm.

I bet you if you go back to that play Frye has a defender in his face.

Dont get me wrong here, Im not saying he has john elway arm, but give him a break.

How is that clueless ? It is what it is... And it is a fact...If he puts the ball where it was supposed to be, Braylon doesn't tear a ligament...Not to hard to figure out...

Who cares about what Peyton throws or what happened with DCutt on that under thrown ball... We are talking about the present time and what we have taking snaps under center for us...

Frye consistently throws wobbly and under thrown balls... He does it on roughly every deep throw...

He has a weak arm....

Atleast Lepip and others know what they are talking about on this issue. Fact of the matter is, Braylon was lucky he didn't get killed earlier in that game where Frye made him a sitting duck accross the middle with that behind the WR pass. Luckily the defender fell down and he got into the end zone untouched..

Fyre can not even throw a good slant, I mean, take off your blinders the guy isn't that good of a QB.

I forgot Kerry Collins was out there, he would be a nice fit in this offense IMO. I wonder why kind of money he is looking for. Deal Dilf to the Niners for a late round pick, sign Collins and see what happens in training camp. Can't hurt.

Bottom line is, our offense wasnt that bad. Rube ran for 1000 yards. The OL was holding up pretty well outside of the Pitt game, Bryant and Edwards had damn good recieving years and Heiden and Shea did well at the TE spot.

Look at it like this, Frye ranks 33rd in the NFL in NFL passer rating. Nice.

Accuracy is 24th in the NFL

Yards per attempt, 29th.

Longest past was for 45 yards....that doesnt even rank in the top 50. There are WRs that had longer passes than that.

i like the idea of collins or quincy carter.carter may sound weird but he would be teamed up with carthon and he wanted to come here last year.

Carter isnt a bad QB. His accuracy isnt that good, but he did well when he filled in for the Jets two seasons ago I believe. But he has bounced around the league and is on the substance abuse policy, one more and he is done for a year.
