People are trying to disqualify Luka from being all NBA 1st team because he had team had a bad record but that's a result of his supporting cast being extremely terrible. Hid numbers and metrics were a cut above Mitchell, Mitchell did not get snubbed.

Barring injury I doubt Mitchell ever makes 1st team over Luka for their careers. Luka is just a better player. Hes that guy who is going to get 1st team every year. Well I guess they're changing all NBA to be postitionless bit if they weren't DM would probably never top Luka
I guess it comes down to what you value. On pure metrics Luka is the 2nd best guard. Other things are valued for all nba which is what gives mitchell the argument. Im more perplexed with SGA tbh

I honestly think they would have about the same record. If Mitchell had to dominate the ball that much, he would. And he would do it well. With Gobert not clogging the paint, he might even do it better.
Mavs were 6th in offensive rating. Problem was they were 24th in defensive rating. So DM is going to help that?

I heard something the other day about Mitchell being courtside at the Philly/Boston game..anyone else see/hear anything?
92.3 was talking about it, and I missed a lot of the converstaion...but one person was saying they should trade him and I'm not sure if it was the host or a rumor speaking of trading him..I heard the trade proposal but not sure where it came from.

He was definitely sitting there with the unfortunate and obnoxious look of sunglasses on while being indoors.

I would look to move him.

I saw him hug it out with Tatum after the game. Not sure there’s a need to read into him going to a basketball game.

Well now you said something that only in part I heard. I personally don't have any thoughts right now about him wanting to leave or the Cavs wanting to trade, but since people in here loooove to throw out trade stuff, the talking head was saying about trading him for Jaylen Brown..now if he just made that up,well ok..but he heard that , thats interesting in itself.

If you make your 3s at a higher rate, which Mitchell does, then the other team isn't going destroy you in transition as much. I also think Mitchell is a better on-ball defender, yes.

I'm on the fence about it. On the one hand, Mitchell isn't stupid imo. He's aware of optics.

On the other hand, it could be a message or it could be nothing, but if it's a message it could also be to pressure changes and get the team better instead of "I want to play for Boston or NY".

Or...
or it could be a message that he wants to go to New York. The LOX hat he was wearing is of a hip hop group that originated from Yonkers, NY. That is just 17 miles from Madison Square Garden.

Either way, it came off too OBJ-ish. I can't see Curry or Giannis doing that on camera after just being eliminated. One of the Boston beat reporters also said he was in the Boston locker room dapping up other players like Al Horford too.

People here don't want to admit it, but it's blindingly obvious where all this is headed...a year from now, after another dismal playoff exit, one of the premier discussions will be WHO we trade Mitchell to...not if.

I said it the moment we stupidly and impulsively blew our load on this non-gamechanger. The Cavs went from being exalted around the league for the direction of their rebuild to an utter gag reel in one offseason. Bravo Koby, you dickless wonder. I hope that LeBron-less playoff cameo was worth it!

Look dude, youre not wrong. But the NBA is a league of stars and we are a small market. We simply had to pull the trigger on getting a top 10-15 player. You dont win shit without this. You dont necessarily win it all with it either. But imagine if we (most likely) lost in the 1st round this year and we look back and realize we dropped the ball on attaining a superstar. This team isnt shit without Mitchell. A team led by Garland, Lauri, and a developing Mobley isnt winning shit. Furthermore, trying to rely on this
core group to even remain loyal to staying
here is a joke. We had to do it.

Really don't see Mitchell sticking around unless we look like a bona-fide contender

Very curious what his health was like in that series. He didn't look explosive and couldn't get by his man. Did he dunk at all?

Luka has flaws that prevent him from being as great as he could/should be. But I just don't see Mitchell as having that same level of court vision/ball handling to get equivalent results as a ball-dominant guard.
