Love that idea. They should do the same with marijuana abusers.
I think if you test negative they should make you smoke it.

That's for healthcare purposes, as smokers cost significantly more per month than non-smokers.
This generation has enough false idols to worship. They don't need another one in marijuana. You could argue everyone should be tested for drugs in one way or another.I think if you test negative they should make you smoke it.
There’s not enough data on marijuana though. There’s gotta be adverse effects from smoking it.
Honestly, your average smoker probably spends a good majority of his day stoned, but because of diminishing returns, endocannibinoid tolerance etc, you can't tell the difference. You might not be too far off from the average cigarette smoker in amount ingested. No doubt there are. However, your average weed smoker likely tokes up a couple of times a day, or takes days or even weeks off from smoking. And some of them smoke pens instead of real weed, or use edibles. Your average cigarette smoker, on the other hand, smokes constantly throughout every day. The rate of use is just so much different for the two. I just don't see how you can compare hitting a pen a couple of times a day to smoking a pack a day.

I smoke on average a half ounce a week and maybe a pen. But let's be real, a lot of pot smokers tend to be enthusiasts, and not just casual tokers.
Just not true. I have my MMJ card and go to the dispensary once or twice a month. When I go I talk. Now I know I am very low for a card carrier, I go days without smoking, only smoke at night when I do smoke, and use it for pain and sleep mainly unless its a weekend where I do it because I do like being high.
But I will assure most I talk to love the shit but only smoke after work. Very few I chat with are during work smokers. I know of several dozed pot smokers I have worked with, got high with many over the last couple of years, and only 3 or 4 smoke during work. Now most did smoke more than I did, but it was not an all day smoker. I get these are productive people, but most I know that are past 25 or so and smoke on a regular basis smoke far less weed than what you mentioned.
Maybe I should clarify it by people that smoked regularly before the fad of MMJ took off. If you're in a medical only state and buying at a dispensary, you aren't who I'm discussing.

I’m not arguing that cigarettes are probably worse for you. There’s also more frequent marijuana smokers then you. It’s just one of the key arguments to legalize it (I do think it should be legalized btw) is that it is safer and has no health effects. Hell, a decent amount argue that it’s better for you to smoke/eat marijuana then not health wise.
So if marijuana was made legal at the federal level, you wouldn't be able to discriminate against it in the hire process. That is the point about legalizing it federally. Even if it is only legal for medical use.
Depends on what you mean by "legalize". Just because something isn't illegal under federal law doesn't mean it's legal under state law. If the Feds simply repealed the federal law criminalizing marijuana, state laws prohibiting its use could still be enforced. You'd need a federal law expressly stating that marijuana use is legal before states could be precluded from criminalizing it.
