Whats crazy about Windler is his skillset is perfect for our SF role. He can rebound, defend, and he was marketed to be a great 3 point shooter. I still maintain if he was healthy & got Okoros opportunity (playing starter minutes for 2 years) he wouldve potentially turned out different.

I just don’t think he has shown ANY of this at the NBA level beyond a few single outlier games separated by weeks and sometimes months.

It sounds nice in theory and from his college tape while playing Belmont’s Behemoth schedule for 4 years but I just don’t think it’s fair to say he provides those things when healthy. We have not seen real NBA evidence for any actual stretch of games and in reality, when he has been healthy enough the play some rotation minutes for multiple games in a row, the results were almost always underwhelming.

And that was against weak regular season defensive effort and intensity. I do not believe for one second that Windler has the physical wherewithal and or mental fortitude to handle NBA playoff physicality and intensity.

Man, would I love to be proved wrong but do not believe I will be , whether in his remaining time in Cleveland or if he’s given other opportunities elsewhere in the NBA.

Edit: don’t think this is a defense of Okoro. I think he’s pretty much a bum player as well lol

I hear you but like you said- Okoro is a complete bum. Windler has demontrated, at the very least, evidence of being able to shoot. He has proven to be a good rebounder. I believe he wouldve given us better results than okoro in 2 years of insane minutes. Okoro has been historically bad. To not be able to score 10 ppg as a starting shooting guard is unheard of.

I played high school basketball ( a joke I know). However, as an athlete, I can say at any level..having confidence is imperative. When you are being thrown in to games with the knowledge you could be yanked at any moment and not see the floor for a few more weeks fucks with your head. Okoro was able to play starter minutes and suck donkey dick with impunity. He knew his spot was all but guarenteed despite his awful production.

He must have had a high grade high ankle sprain that takes 2-3 months. This guy........
Must be.

Either that or he has some sort of metabolic disease that prevents him from healing.

Windler’s career 3pt % is 32.0. Windler is 0/19 from 3 since January 19th. He will spend the majority of his first four seasons injured even if he comes back soon and stays injury free.

If he had played against starters he would have been crushed within a few games. He’s not physically up to playing in the NBA.

Yes. Basically, I'm an idiot and used to post a disturbing Gif of a tranny I named Olga in the EAYOR section. Its a right of passage for notable new members to be exposed to her member. Welcome!
Is there any way you could introduce Olga to Dylan Windler? He needs a right of passage experience to create a breakthrough of some sort, maybe Olga could help him.

Maybe she could pump some energy into him!

They picked up his option, so that means he is coming back next year unless traded, right?

No this is his fourth year.
This summer he’ll be a RFA
He could come back on the QO but I think they could also renounce his rights in the summer but not 100% sure on that

Feel bad for the guy. If he had any sort of stretch looking like he did in summer league it could all be different for him

He is still young enough that he can catch on again somewhere at a minimum salary - there is always a place for shooters with height. But that is always contingent on if he can get and stay healthy.

Ain't that the truth! No place more than here right now.
A couple legit 3pt shooters other than Don and Darius would fix a lot of what ails us.

I think it's kind of unfair to hold some of these shooting stars against him. When you only play once in a blue moon, it's kinda difficult to get in any kind of rhythm. And usually even the best shooters have some sort of adjustment period. He has just never had that opportunity because of injuries. Too good of a shooter in college to not have the potential to be one in the NBA.

Hypothetical Windler is such a good fit on this roster. And you know as soon as we give up on him he's going to go to some contender and shoot 40% and carve out a career ala Joe Harris, Danny Green etc.

Well we better keep him forever then so that doesn’t happen.
