It's funny how he's probably been out 2nd best player the last week or so, and mostly crickets in here. I suppose it's more natural to spend forum time complaining about the people underperforming.
Honestly can't wait until he firmly establishes himself as our #2 which could potentially occur by the end of this season.
Hopefully he keeps improving and will be our clear #1 alpha by the '24-25 season.

Love Donovan but tbh our team is probably a little too "small guard centric" at the moment.

I just have high expectations of him. I projected him to really skyrocket more than he has so far. He is trending upwards but I don't think his play has been extradorinary either. He is basically the same player as last year.

its how the posters are around here. love to be negitive. its like the dont know how to be positive. of course Im not talking about everybody. but you know who they are. all you have to do is spend time in the game threads. they make unbearable to read the thread. unless we are blowing a team out by 40 points they will complain about something.

Mobley is about 15 pounds of real muscle away from being an absolute monster on both sides.

I just love it that he is actually trying and we are seeing glimpses of what he can do consistently in the future.

One thing he needs to change is his mentality. He needs to demand the ball if he has a mismatch. The Spurs broadcast noticed that we are not taking advantage of the switches.

I kinda enjoy the wide variety of posters on this forum. If everyone was all sunshine and rainbows 24/7 (cavs reddit) I would get bored and creeped out. I also think sometimes people misinterpret criticism and honest observations (albeit emotionally charged) to be "hating." This place cracks me up and thats why I return.

Im all for honest observations and good debates but some of these posters are just negative nancy and debbie downers. they do it to be assholes.

It's probably one of the big issues with the team. They aren't playing organically as more than the sum of their parts at the moment. Like you saw how it could be in some of those game where when Darius is struggling, Mobley can be the playmaker from the elbow. Those were really effective when Darius was getting blitzed.

With Donovan back and spacing to the wing or corner that should be even deadlier.

Ball just hasn't been moving the same way

Sure until recently he looked very similar to last year. I was disappointed also not to see a big leap. But this last week we are definitely seeing strong hints of something more. I hope it’s not a temporary hot streak and we’re seeing the start of a growth spurt

Could be!

Perhaps a few more weeks like this past 1 or 2, and he would basically be doing it. I'm not sure how hard Garland will try to keep the mantle, but he has to see it coming.

My problem with the San Antonio game was I think in the first quarter, Mobley and Allen only took like 2 total shots. Probably any game starting like that is going to be a mess. At some point Allen and Mobley were undeniable to use, but it should start right out of the gate feeding them.

The 2021 NBA draft looked like an all-timer last season with the way the top 6 picks impacted the season. Now Cade is done for the season with a busted shin (not many players recover from that) and Barnes' knees look slightly cooked already. Glad the FO snagged Mobley and didn't overthink it.

Yeah I kept seeing the same thing. Guards thinking they could do it all themselves when not hitting shots
