The 2021 NBA draft looked like an all-timer last season with the way the top 6 picks impacted the season. Now Cade is done for the season with a busted shin (not many players recover from that) and Barnes' knees look slightly cooked already. Glad the FO snagged Mobley and didn't overthink it.

Are shin injuries notoriously bad? I've never heard that -- and can't really remember another athlete who has had one?

Perhaps a few more weeks like this past 1 or 2, and he would basically be doing it. I'm not sure how hard Garland will try to keep the mantle, but he has to see it coming.

My problem with the San Antonio game was I think in the first quarter, Mobley and Allen only took like 2 total shots. Probably any game starting like that is going to be a mess. At some point Allen and Mobley were undeniable to use, but it should start right out of the gate feeding them.
Yes, they should have been more active! But it seems that the opponent also prepared for the game. And managed to counter Mobley and Allen with their own game.

Revisiting the ringer's scouting report on evan mobley. An athletic long great defensive bigman, a good passer but needs to develop his offensive skill set.

Did he improve from last year?

More like Garland and Mitchell ignored them. Especially Garland.

Anyone know why mobley has started jumping on shit fakes on the three point line? He used to be incredible at staying grounded but now he seems to get pumped out his socks a few times a game

Could be part of his learning curve in defending three point shots. He's generally sagging off the shooter a little bit because he has the length and reflexes to make a contest regardless. There's been times where he has been positioned slightly too far away from a shooter prior to a shot and the shooter proceeds to sink a three after a decent contest.

Perhaps jumping at fakes is part of the process in slight adjustments for defending shooters? Closing the distance when he sees a player in a prerelease motion? Mobley has been an incredible defender and disciplined thus far and I think he'll figure it out!

Yeah. I wonder if he is tired. Mental fatigue? He has been holding it together with both Allen and Donovan out

Fantastic game by Mobley at least at the end

That three was huge. He has to keep working on them and shooting them since he's wide open. At least two a game

He's been looking smooth and agile at times on offense.

Huge 3

Up to .258 from 3 this year, climbing
