Also we get one more year of control with Mobley. Before all this we would have to sign him to a 4 year max after his 4th season. Now we can sign him to a 5 year max extension after his 3 year. The upside for Mobley is he can have supermax language in his contract so he could trigger the Rose rule and be eligible for the 30% max if he gets defensive player of the year, All NBA, or MVP. Defensive player of the year is what he could be eyeing especially since people have already started talking about it.

As Chuck Bednarik said, if you want to do something spectacular, you do it in New York. Evan needs to bring the slam and block party to MSG. If he shows out against the Knicks the NYC media will start talking him up.

He’s underrated by all but Cavaliers fans and close watchers of the NBA. That won’t last because he’s just too good.

Seriously. Is this the Who is Most Like Rudy Gobert award? Pretty sure they didn't use such a limited criteria for Smart when he won it. The best defensive player on the best defensive team is not a coincidence.
