Yup. The fan had been heckling Belle, with such gems as "Hey Joey, keg party at my house!" (This was soon after Belle had gone into rehab and had changed from calling himself Joey, derived from his middle name of Jojuan, to his first name Albert.)I remember him throwing at someone in the stands.

Belle was suspended by MLB, and then sent down to Buffalo for that incident.
My oldest son was a pretty fair Little Leaguer then, and Joey ( at that time) was his favorite. The boy had a problem with his temper on a baseball field back then. Pounded bats, threw helmets, etc. But when the Indians sent Belle down, he never, ever threw another tantrums.
Without getting into details, I got an up close (about 20 feet) look at Belle when he was angry on a baseball field. Lets just say that he seemed to swell up to double his size. Very scary.
The only scarier looking guy I ever saw up close was Jack Tatum, who I knew at OSU. Tatum was a really nice guy off the field, and was always very friendly to me. But even smiling, he was very scary looking.
Funny thing...Tatum saw me playing in an intramural football game, and stopped to say hi between plays. Seeing that made everybody think that I was a scary guy...all 5-9, 160 of me....lol.

She didn't see it she looked away for a second. Let me tell you he fired that ball into the stands,,and I think he did hit the heckler if I'm not mistaken.
But god help him if missed the guy and hit a kid and hurt them,,,because as hard as he threw that ball he could have killed a kid.
Belle was a truly gifted human being. Not only extremely gifted athletically (a true five tool player who developed all five tools to the max), he was a gifted student who also showed early signs of leadership and popularity.
But, although he was superb in pressure situations on the baseball field, he was undone by the inner pressure of being a baseball star.

Joey(Lazy, I know)/Albert was the angriest guy I've ever seen at the plate. Every at bat he looked like he wanted to take the bat and rush the mound and beat the pitcher with it.

And Lindor out for the last month with an oblique injury. Lindor's wRC+ over the last four years starting in 2018: 132, 115, 102, and 96 this year.
well first, I feel bad for all of them, except Bauer.
But we got a good haul back for clev, kluber, lindor, cookie

Belle never played for Buffalo. AAA affiliate was Colorado Springs back then.
