Ex Indians update

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't want to derail this thread with the Bauer stuff as that's gotten this locked in the past, but I'll just leave it at this: I'd be shocked if he pitches again this season. As far as next season is concerned, I wouldn't be surprised if he has a suspension but then returns.
Yeah.

This thread has been derailed by the Bauer thing before, and I am at least responsible for derailment this time.

Its time to move on from Bauer to past Tribesmen who are actually playing.

Can I just say that I wish we'd gotten the Josh Donaldson of the other x playing years when we traded for him than what we got?

I know, he was coming off injury and we took a flier, but we just didn't get his best.

he doesnt seem like a "5 teams in 11 seasons" type guy - but he is

He hasn’t admitted to anything unforgivable yet, but if he did anything that wasn’t consensual, he can fuck right off.
More than meets the eye here.

Holding off on passing judgement like you have is the right way to read this. It is going to be a much harder case for MLB to adjudicate then what it would seem.

Cesar keeps chugging along for the White Sox. He's hitting .242 with an OBP of .351 - better than he was doing for the Tribe (.236/.309). He has 4 RBIs in 66 AB's.

Which former Indian is having the best season this year? Aguilar is hitting .268/.816 with 86 RBI's and a 1.6 WAR for Miami. Any other candidates?

I think we can quickly eliminate Bauer, Lindor, Kluber, Clevinger, Carrasco, and Frazier. Urshela is hitting .274/.754 with 1.6 WAR, but only 41 RBI's in over 300 AB's.

He was pretty productive for the limited 16 regular season games we had him for. .280 / .400 / .520

Stunk in the playoffs, but every bat other than Lindor played terribly in that series.
.114 / .176 / .127 team slash when you remove Lindor's contributions

Joey Wendle has been the best of all the Indians former tribe hands...I never wanted to get rid of him back in the day

He was roughly our 9th/10th ranked prospect when we traded him for Brandon Moss. When news 1st broke of the trade we didn't know who the MIF would be. Everyone seemed to think JRam would be a huge overpay and not to do it. Erik Gonzalez - I believed (and think most others) this would be the guy traded. When it was announced it was Joey Wendle, it seemed like a fantastic deal.

I really liked Wendle, I mean on paper we got a HR bat, Moss, then since we went out of contention we traded him for a AA left handed starting pitcher, Kaminsky. So on paper we traded Wendle for Kaminsky. I just wish Kaminsky didn't get hurt...

So what happens now with Bauer and the Dodgers? I just do not see how Bauer can pitch again this season. Regardless of the outcome he is a sick fuck.

Per the article, "The fifth extension of Bauer's administrative leave -- which dates back to July 2 -- expires at the end of the day on Friday. The expectation is that it will be extended once again, with consent by the MLB Players' Association. MLB is unlikely to make a ruling on a potential Bauer suspension until the criminal investigation concludes."

Like I said before, there is much more here than meets the eye.

And now it is becoming clearer

If you look at the ruling, the judge's findings are that it was a completely consensual matter, and if they are going to try to start governing things that are consensual in the bedroom, they are going to be stepping in very troubled waters.

The judge ruled that the event fell under the domestic violence statute, so the finding was purely on the evidence and not on a technicality
