Funny thing.

The Bauer posse hasn't posted in a while.

Maybe...just maybe...it has something to do with him being absolutely torched two games in a row.

In 15 IP over three starts, he has given up 14 ER...26 hits...and 5 HR.

Perhaps the batters should be doing the sword thing as they trot around the bases, giving joy to their own fans.

“The sword thing?”

Greg Allen is now a Yankee.. The Yankees are SAVED !!!

Aaron Hicks was just DFA'd for Allen, who was called up to the Bombers today.

This is why I hope we don’t give up on someone like Arias. You can see the talent, like I remember seeing with Yandy, but needs MLB ABs to keep growing.

But, again, some of this is revisionist history. If you looked at his first 3 years at Tampa, they were nice (1.6, .5 in 60 game COVID year so 1.5 prorated, and 1.8). These are nice -- good if we had that RHB, but nothing to write home about (factoring in 2.0-2.5 is what you want as a decent player like Rosario last year plus a few 3-6+ WAR). Then at age 30, Diaz hits 3.8 FG war and already has 2.1 this year!!!! Damn... I kind of hated giving him up for Bauers but he was a top 100 prospect (struggling). Guardians gambled and lost big. But, it shows everyone that there is that growing in period (that you are referring to with Arias) that can pay you big dividends or reap you more losses and complaints from others who "saw" it coming, years later. You just never really know. Those who predict that they knew -- will hype it .... those times that they get it wrong ... are swept under the covers.

Don't forget they got Santana back in the deal so make sure we look at the full trade... I mean trading EE and Yandy for Santana and Bauers had some sense to it at the time...

I get that ... as they wanted Santana back who had a 4.8 War in 2019 and 0.7 COVID War vs EE who had a 2.5 WAR in 2019). Thus, we won that part of trade but not as much as people think when 2019 was a bust year (8 games out of division and 3 games out of WC). Santana's 0.7 FG WAR in 2020 was about equivalent to Yandy's 0.5. I know they wouldn't have just done EE for Santana as it even blocked Yandy at 1st more with Jose at 3rd, thus they wanted a potential OF. Yet, Yandy's RHB/WAR now would look good instead of Bell.... But, I get why they did it at the time.
