Francisco Lindor, Carlos Carrasco Traded to the Mets

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Do Rosario and Giminez have a lot of upside? Are they better options than Chang and Miller? Or Freeman?

2 lottery tickets
A former top 5 prospect who has been immensely disappointing in the majors
Gimenez who I was semi excited for until I saw AZ_ post his Statcast chart

Yeah, hard to spin this one as much more than a salary dump

For what? To win 85 games and then get nothing for him in the offseason?
It’s baseball, they could have competed in 2021.

We will see just how much more than nothing we got in this trade in the next few years.

Sorry, fellas, I’m not excited for the inevitable rebuild and non-competitive years to come.

Wouldnt be shocked if this team is sold in 2-3 years and that changing the name and dropping these two to get payroll way down weren’t just inevitabilities but also big hints.

Wouldn’t it have made more sense to just play the year out and let Lindor walk after the season? This return seems pretty terrible, could’ve probably found similar pieces in other deals.
Keeping him at 20m appears to not have been a financial option...
What were the other offers in this moment? What would the return have looked like if CC were not included? Obviously we do not know, but I am really interested in the state of the market

Well that is one way to dump payroll in one quick trade. About $25 to $30 million
"Cleveland sheds about $44 million off their payroll in the #Mets trade, which is what they sought to do all winter." - Whoever I was reading on twitter

More pissed about throwing Cookie away like nothing. Wanted that guy to retire an Indian.

Trade blows. Outside of that OFer who I don’t know anything about, none of those other guys are headliners for a superstar and an ace caliber pitcher. The rebuild is on in full force boys, buckle up.
By the time the rebuild gets competitive, Bieber will be traded, and Josey will be long gone. Tito doesn't have much time to manage either considering his health, matter fact this could be his final year because smart money is retiring. It'll be dark times for sure.

I wouldn't be shocked if it's moved in 2-3 years.

Dude. It is a business. Players know it. That’s why they hold out. Don’t sign contracts Etc. It is not personal
I know all to well it is a business, but when Cookie agreed to that "team friendly" deal, it was implied that he would remain an Indian. Sucks that he didn't and it shows that nothing less than a no trade clause will keep the management from sending you packing.

It sucks for Cookie
