I unfortunately agree with your assessment.

As I just wrote in the Myles thread, I think people should expect 16 games or a calendar year.

I think though, after some investigating, that they will find that Mason said or did something (has the kick to the nuts been verified?) that while not an excuse, would give some context to what happened.

And I think Pouncy has to be punished severely too.

It is one thing to shove a guy onto the ground to defend your QB, it is another to punch and kick him like it was Street Fighter.

It's rather lame that we can't have this convo because those shrieking around for clicks and to be applauded for their moral stance they dared to take.

I'm not really all that mad at Garrett. I think he just did this action at the wrong at the wrong time. But he should be suspended and deserves it.

I also wish that the Steelers organization and their fans would perhaps have made noted the irony of them bitching about this. I really believe had the reverse happened? We'd be seeing your a-hole friend from work posting a badly rendered gif. of it.

You guys are spot on. We live in an era with twitter group think where people want blood right away based on emotion . There are literally some people more upset about this then another mass shooting at a high school in the same day. It was bad yes, but the hyperbole of he should be arrested for assault and never play again is just too much and a narrow minded approach. He is going to get a long suspension. He seems like a good guy overall so I hope he learns from this and gets a fair chance to move on with his life. I think people need to calm down.

If he had the character concerns of a person like Joey Porter or James Harrison? i would be far less forgiving. I would probably indeed be arguing with a full season.

IIRC? Harrison was so stupid when he headhunted Massaqui, McCoy and Cribbs? He said he was "putting them to sleep" or something really disgusting like that.

Really that's my saving grace with him is his lack of a track record in that regard.

Freddie said in camp if someone hits you hit back. It sounded good but this is the results of that. Don’t see the patriots doing stuff like that. Billy would murder them.

Watching replay this morning now that it's everywhere. Rudolph grabs Myles helmet, may try choking him, but definitely both hits and kicks Myles in the groin.

Rudolph is listed at 6-5, 240 pounds, Garrett at 6-4, 270. Minimizing Rudolph's role in causing this fracus because he's some wimpy qb is an argument with no merit. Garrett obviously shouldn't have responded as he did, but it was not a premeditated act. It was a stupid retaliation which escalated the incident. Pouncey escalated it further, charging Garrett even before the helmet strike.

1. Garrett should get 4 games off, but will likely wind up with 6. I don't feel his. actions are as heinous as Haynesworth's, but the political climate of the NFL. will win out.

2. Pouncey should get 2-3 games for his role in the escalation, but the NFL. probably gives him 2, not wanting him available for the next Browns game.

3. Randolph should get a game as the main instigator with his own helmet grab. and kick. If GRob got booted for his reflexive kick, Randolph deserves to lose a . game also. He also had a role in the escalation for charging Garrett like a . maddog after the initial incident. Curiously, his maddoggedness ended abruptly. after the helmet swing, and he appeared to look for a flag. Jesus, are these. guys idiots or what?

4. Ogunjobi deserves a relatively smallish fine for his light shove, but no . suspension.

Sheesh, we can't get a win without tarnish. My disciplinary predictions are somewhat influenced by my fanhood. It makes sure Rudolph is back in time to face us again this year.

I do not urge any discipline for Rudolph's press conference, as ridiculous as it was.

Rudolph isn't getting suspended, there is no precedent for such a thing even if it was worthy of a personal foul.

That is silly.

Schedule starts looking tougher without him to terrorize QBs. Damnit.

Would it be a fair question to ask Freddie why our best players on defense were still in the game and going at 100% speed with the game 100% over at that point?

Also, why the heck are the steelers lining up and running another play after their QB got rocked on the 2 previous plays?

I absolutely think this is a fair question that should be asked.
