Rudolph isn't getting suspended, there is no precedent for such a thing even if it was worthy of a personal foul.

That is silly.

Didn't Robinson get thrown out of a game for a kick earlier this season?

EDIT: See it posted above as well. Isn't that something to consider precedent?

No control, no accountability.

Getting back to things that are more related to the first 59:52 of the game, how exactly does a team manage to win the turnover battle 4-0 but score only 21 points?

Lets play the scenario game.

What would it take for confidence to be renewed in Freddie? Going 5-1 with the offense hitting it's stride and defense doing just enough?

winning record might do it.

But even then it's not guaranteed considering all that's taken place.

Rudolph is listed at 6-5, 240 pounds, Garrett at 6-4, 270. Minimizing Rudolph's role in causing this fracus because he's some wimpy qb is an argument with no merit. Garrett obviously shouldn't have responded as he did, but it was not a premeditated act. It was a stupid retaliation which escalated the incident. Pouncey escalated it further, charging Garrett even before the helmet strike.

1. Garrett should get 4 games off, but will likely wind up with 6. I don't feel his. actions are as heinous as Haynesworth's, but the political climate of the NFL. will win out.

2. Pouncey should get 2-3 games for his role in the escalation, but the NFL. probably gives him 2, not wanting him available for the next Browns game.

3. Randolph should get a game as the main instigator with his own helmet grab. and kick. If GRob got booted for his reflexive kick, Randolph deserves to lose a . game also. He also had a role in the escalation for charging Garrett like a . maddog after the initial incident. Curiously, his maddoggedness ended abruptly. after the helmet swing, and he appeared to look for a flag. Jesus, are these. guys idiots or what?

4. Ogunjobi deserves a relatively smallish fine for his light shove, but no . suspension.

Sheesh, we can't get a win without tarnish. My disciplinary predictions are somewhat influenced by my fanhood. It makes sure Rudolph is back in time to face us again this year.

It amazes me that Rudolph is supposedly taller.

He looked so tiny compared to Myles.

Freddie isn't getting fired. He'll be back next season.

I tend to agree and support this unless we finish under .500. With the remaining schedule anything less then that would be even a worse let down then the beginning of the season.

If we can win 3 of the remaining 6 games without Myles and after the horrible start it will be looked at as an accomplishment and chalked up to Freddie being a rookie coach. Looking back on it winning 7 games this season considering the season we've had will be looked at as a positive for Freddie.

I disagree. I think only winning 3 would be a huge disappointment. We play the no win Bengals twice & Miami, those are must win games IMO no excuse for not winning those. If we are unable to go at min 1-2 vs Pitt, Bal, AZ that is also underachieving. We should be favored in all of the games but Ravens. Outside of The Steelers we don’t play any other top 15 defense this year, no reason the offense is not able to carry us with Hunt being back and getting out TE back.

Would it be a fair question to ask Freddie why our best players on defense were still in the game and going at 100% speed with the game 100% over at that point?

Also, why the heck are the steelers lining up and running another play after their QB got rocked on the 2 previous plays?

To the second question - Rudolph could use the practice. Reps for a young QB make sense, even in the final 30 seconds of a decided game.

To the first - I’m guessing the defense **wants** to be out there precisely because it’s time to tee off on an opponent they haven’t beaten in 5 years. And they did sack him the two plays previous. Easy in hindsight to say it’s a bad idea, but if Garrett doesn’t do something that basically hasn’t been done in decades... no one is questioning it.

This is false. Check out this play from a Texans/Dolphins game some years back. Guy removes Incognito's helmet and swings it at his head. The punishment? Suspended two preseason games and the regular season opener.

Myles will appeal and win. Precedent has been established.

I stand corrected. The larger point still stands though.

I actually think Wilks has so little faith in our non-starters that he was scared that they would give up a big play at the end of the game. Just look at his rotations, they are basically non-existent. It's not like the rotation D-line guys have gotten reps together, they seem to be rotating in one at a time for a starter. I'm not even sure there is a backup group of linebackers. He could have pulled our starting corners for TJ Carrie and Mitchell. The safeties were already the backups.
