I think a lot of fans liked him because they saw him as a good ol' boy who they could have a beer with. I'm sure he was. He just wasn't ready for this job. There was nothing in his past that showed he could be a head coach. We found out the hard way.

Or we could have listened to our analytics team. Or the “nerds” as football guy Dorsey calls them

They could immediately hire Ron Rivera, FWIW...
Wouldn't it be great if they already had a deal with him? I know that's pretty unlikely, but would spare us the usual two weeks of talking about coordinators.

Kitchens believing he had organizational support speaks to a clear and distinct lack of fluency between the front office and the coaching staff.

...again...

Factions working against other factions, it’s no way to run a franchise regardless of what you think of Kitchens, who now does NOT matter since he doesn’t wear orange and brown.
Basically the front office lied to him about his job security when they didn't need to. That's depressing.

He probably did, right up until the team visibly quit on him.

Hopefully the rest of the coaching staff (except special teams) are not far behind.

So even the firing was handled as poorly as possible.. cool.

You'd think with how much experience they have at it, they'd be better at the whole firing process.

If they really led him to believe he was safe, that's fucked up.

Serious question, why does Ron Rivera take John Dorsey’s call?

Freddie seemed like a good dude who was in way over his head.

I was told and still believe he was a place holder for Mike McCarthy to take a year off and find a legitimate staff and get some time to himself.
