Fans giving weight to managers/coaches "showing emotion" is one of the most annoying things in sports.

I think Freddie is a fantastic coach, and a great man. Those two things go hand-in-hand.

Attributing anything to the level of emotion he does or does not display while standing on the sideline is doing the man a disservice.

I'm an individual who showed emotion when playing sports. So I enjoy seeing coaches reflect that energy. I like it.

That's all.

Edit: Do you always take the contrarian, argumentative approach to everything on here?

There might be a difference in showing emotion vs actually giving a fuck but it’s safe to say, Hue wasn’t good at either.

I find it refreshing to see a coach actually showing emotion on the sidelines because we certainly have some emotional leaders in that locker room. I’ll take fiery Freddy over dumbfounded Hue, look mad Pettine, and serial killer stare Shurmur any day.

A study was done across the major sports back in 2010 and emotion showed on sideline by head coach was directly correlated with greater team success over the previous 5 years.

I don't know how you can trust a coach and a GM when you have no field goal kicker.

One of these guys is going to lose them at least 2-3 games.

This is a big problem for sure. I’ll give u that

There’s a difference between showing emotion and too much emotion. We need a head coach that’ll keep a cool head. Freddie will make players fight until they’re all hurt due to his inexperience. It’ll cost us.

I just hope there will be a big Presser when we sign an actual FG kicker, right @QuadrupleDouble @Deezus , just feel like you cannot chance this season without an actual FG Kicker. The Browns will have to have a massive Presser when they make this happen.

I almost didn't respond this is so ridiculous, but here I go.

We are 2/3rds through camp with 2 more preseason games, and we will let up some the last week. After camp, we will never go live again against each other during the season.

We have kept some people out like ODB with "minor" injuries so they don't get hurt, but in general we are a young team that needs the experience. How do you teach an oline or dline to play together with out contact. On top of that we have some positional battles that only way we can figure out is if we do go live. Knock on wood, we have no major injuries yet, and he has barely played some players in pre-season stating he gets more out of the joint practices and "scrimmage".

Players love playing for emotional coaches and have a tendency to get the most out of players. Football is a contact sport and it takes full contact to fully learn your position and improve. I have loved what I see from Freddie so far.

ODB = Ol' Dirty Bastard
OBJ = Odell Beckham Jr.

If the Browns lose 2-3 games because of a FG, that shows the offense isn't performing up to expectations. That's an even bigger problem.
I agree to an extent, but there will be a couple games where the offense isn’t clicking at the highest level, or the defense gives up a couple big plays...and all of a sudden the kicker makes the difference.

They mentioned it in the last preseason game, but some absurd percentage of NFL games last season were decided by 3 points or less.

Shit happens in the NFL, no team plays at a high level every single week. You look at the teams that have won Super Bowls, most of them have good kickers. The Patriots have always had a great kicker, shit Vinatieri was arguably the MVP of their early 2000s dynasty.

I don’t think you need an amazing kicker, but I do think you need a competent one.

Jake Burns gets let go from Cleveland.com and is still providing better Browns coverage than MKC...

Love that look. If we can run off that scheme like we did last year, we will be very difficult to stop. Nice play action, froze all 3 linebackers, there were 2 wide open receivers, plus I couldn't see what WR1 was doing at the bottom of the screen, although it might have been a 2 deep zone it appears where he was covered by the safety after the corner let him go.

Anytime we catch a team playing zone against that its an easy read for Baker. If its man we are against, you audible into a run (or don't audible away form the run) and should have some running room.

I can see why Freddie likes it.
