Game 63 | Cavaliers vs. Pistons | March 5, 2010 | 7:00 PM (EST)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Mr. Wahoo just posted a GREAT read on our former rivalry with Detroit. It will really make you reminisce about past series. Make sure to read it and leave a comment or two about what you remember most from the short lived Detroit rivalry...

I like the fact that we seem to be amassing a collection of "former rivalries", Wizards, Pistons, etc...Now, time to add the Celtics, Magic and Lakers to the list....:chuckles:

Oh and, Vida's ass is intoxicating...

CLEVELAND -- Pre-game from The Q:
Projected starting lineups
Pistons: Rodney Stuckey, Richard Hamilton, Jonas Jerebko, Tayshaun Prince, Jason Maxiell
Cavs: Mo Williams, Anthony Parker, LeBron James, Antawn Jamison, JJ Hickson

Officials
Dick Bavetta, Mark Lindsay, Michael Smith

* Delonte West is available to play after missing Wednesday's game for personal reasons. Daniel Gibson, new father, will not be at the game and it doesn't sound like he's going to play tomorrow night in Milwaukee, either. Ben Wallace is out with a knee injury for the Pistons. He's been having an great season for the Pistons, one of the few bright spots. Chris Wilcox (back) probably won't play either.

* This is another great matchup for the new, smaller and faster Cavs. The Pistons' tallest starter will be Jerebko and he plays small forward. The Pistons have struggled offensively this season. Free agents Charlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon average a combined 26 points off the bench and neither is shooting better than 43 percent. Overall, the Pistons average just 93 points a game. The Cavs should be able to simply outscore them with their running ways. Cavs have scored at least 108 points in the last four games.

* Jerebko has been a pleasant surprise this season for the Pistons. He's proven to be a hard-nosed defender and often guards the best wing player on the opposing teams. He doesn't have a lot of bulk, but at 6-10 his length can bother people and he's got the desire to be a good defender. He's not a great scorer or 3-point shooter yet, but the Pistons did a nice job picking him up late in the first round. He will be guarding James quite a bit. One thing he will do is foul, so expected LeBron to attack him. Heck, the Cavs are attacking everyone on offense right now.

That's understandable for Boobie to be away with his new son and wife, can't fault him for that.

I'm a little concerned there might be some problems though. Hopefully not, and he's just being a Dad, but I kind of expected him back by now?...

We better be ready for the man and the legend Kwame Brown since Wilcox and Big Ben are out. <--- Sarcasm for the slow witted people

The guy just had his first son, give him a break.

I'm not calling him out for anything, I'm fine with him being a good Dad. I just thought he would be back by now and just hoping all is OK with his son...

FYI, Brown said in his interview after shootaround today that he talked to Gibson recently, and that they're taking this one day a time. Brown didn't express or reveal any special concerns but he also couldn't guarantee when Gibson would return.

It sounded like a tough delivery with all the early contractions and all. I bet he is just sticking around for Kesha...not his son. Seeing his son extra is the bonus. I took a full 2 weeks off work for my first kid because it was a tough delivery. Sure he has money to pay for help, but nothing beats being their for yous spouse/gf.

MB hasn't even noticed he's been gone.

My thoughts exactly!... Can hear MB mumbling "yo Bron, why's there an empty seat on the bench" as he's trying to see what Malone and/or Jent is drawing up on their boards..:chuckles:

Two weeks off because of a tough delivery? Nice employer. I've worked for almost 35 years now and I've never heard of of an employee taking that much time off to be with his wife UNLESS there were MAJOR problems of some kind.

The other day we were told that Boobie would be back to play today. Now, he might not be back for tomorrow either? I find this all very strange stuff. It's now been the entire week for Gibson to be out.

A regular average joe wouldn't get this type of special treatment unless something serious was going on.

I took two weeks for each of our kids, too. :dunno:
