I think Drummond leaving would help them a ton.Board is gonna be Drummond hate left and right and yea, he's been bad again, but that's not the big issue going forward.
Sexton isn't seeing the court again. Garland isn't aggressive.
Neither look like any type of franchise player at the moment. Or even guys who will make an all-star team in the future.
They need to get better.

Too much deferring to Drummond.
Garland is 73 games into his NBA career. Every single stat of his is up from last season. Ways to go obviously but what is your basis for feeling like you are seeing no progression from say game 30 to game 73 or even the basis that progression is measured in small chUni’s of just 10-20 games this early into a players career.Sexton isn't seeing the court at all when he drives. At all.
Garland is just....average. Everything about his game screams average player.
Which is fine. You need them. But that means we need to find some stars somewhere else.
Well I don't agree on Garland,,I think he is improving...but yeah you have to get a star in this draft,,,so it may not be a bad thing to start losing big time.Sexton isn't seeing the court at all when he drives. At all.

If we have to put multiple stars on this team because we haven't drafted them then......get the point?
I mean, were you guys NOT hoping you'd see two dudes who looked like stars this year? Just a slightly below average point guard and slightly above average shooting guard were your expectations for the season?
Sexton, right now, isn't impacting the game enough ways.
We got killed on the glass tonight and a lot of that was him ball watching. He has zero rebounds while Dinvenczo has 4 offensive rebounds alone.
Garland ALSO has zero rebounds. Jrue HOliday has 3 offensive boards alone.
They're not doing enough tonight.
Yes, I expect more from the player people are suggesting we build around.
Drummond is the easy scape-goat.
We’re also playing without one of our best two way players in Nance and a guy who even though he has his own issues and is not a part of the long term, does open up some things on offense(Love)Eh. Everything early in the season looks like a mirage. Getting blown out more regularly now that the competition is better.
Defense has taken a nosedive. And Sexton's peak against the Nets has fallen off a cliff.
PRetty depressing from where I hoped this team was.
I'm more just generally salty and was being a sarcastic dick in response to your post and for that I'm sorry.
I'll say this though: my expectations going into the season were that the team would be worse than they are and that the shrimpy backcourt would leave no doubt as to their inability to co-exist. I feel like they've shown it's at least a possibility that they could thrive together, however remote, especially when you consider their youth and their surrounding cast. We're losing to some really good teams--objectively better teams--and often look like we at least belong in the same court. Doesn't mean I'm satisfied with moral victories, but I AM encouraged when some very good teams end up having to really buckle down and put the screws to us to pull away at the end. Especially when a lot of these teams--like the Lakers and Bucks--have some of the most devastating and huge wings in the game and that remains our biggest hole on our side.
I'm also encouraged when I consider the fact that one of our most talented (on paper at least) and expensive players has barely played this season and his backup at PF, who has played exceptionally well defensively, is also out currently.
I think the fact that Drummond is a perfect scapegoat is a bit of a red herring.
My biggest disappointment is that Okoro hasn't continued blowing me away after those couple of preseason performances that grew my expectations way out of proportion.
