Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #56 | Cavs @ Sixers | Feb. 12, 2022 | 7:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Sixers have lost twice to the Wizards, they've lost to the Hornets, and the wolves.

By your logic clearly Doc Rivers is not a playoff level coach and he needs replaced.
I mean, it’s possible. Hard to say what value he added to Celtics’ Big 4, beyond what your average coach would.

Then by your standard any head coach whose team loses to one of the bottom teams in the NBA is substandard and needs to be replaced if that team is going to be a contender?

It’s not an either/or. It’s all about the frequency with which it happens.

Like I’ve said, going on 100x, it will be hard to know when the Cavs will need an upgrade at head coach, but I’ve gone on record as predicting it will be obvious about this time in 2024, after a couple of first-round exits and a disappointing start to 2023-24.

Our second unit of Levert, Osman and Love went for 9 for 30 on their shots combined. Not going to win important games with those type of numbers. Love played a lot minutes in Indy, so he should be better next game.

Hate to say it, but Garland should rest until after the All Star game. He should not be playing is he has to wear a back brace on the bench.

Should he sit out the ASG?

If its still an issue, he should. Its sucks because the All-Star Game is at home and it would be his 1st, but he is too important of a player to risk the injury getting worse or not healing correctly

Yes let him sit out and JA would take his spot ;)

Joel is only the second player since 1960 to score a 40 point triple double. The other player? James Harden.

Joel is leading the NBA in scoring. No center has won the scoring title since Shaq in 2000.

Joel also is the second player in Sixers history to have a 40 point triple double. The first was Wilt in 1968.

I don’t care about Halliburton vs. Okoro. We should have drafted Embiid over Wiggins and waited for him. LeBron / Embiid / World B Flat would be unstoppable even by the Durant Warriors. (Not really serious about this point, but that trio would be the Ultimate Big 3).

So, the opposing star had a legendary performance, and our roleplayers clanked shots.

I really don't think there is too much to be taken from this game other than the Cavs may not have been well-prepared for this one.

We know this team is susceptible to 3s from the way they protect the paint. Both were compromised in this game and we had only our allstar play really well and even he got all his passes picked off.

This is some of the most valuable tape they have accumulated all year. I hope to see better adjustments next time we see them, but even so they tied the game in 3rd quarter. Defense did it's job

No way to cool off JE when he is hitting from the perimeter. Clearly the MVP.

Games like this make me more favorable to bringing back Sexton.

We need guys who can get the ball in the basket.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ THIS

After watching that Celtics win over Philly, and so far in this Philly and Milwaukee game, our loss to Philly feels more and more like a coaching loss. Milwaukee is trapping Embiid whenever he gets the ball on the perimeter. JBB either did not respect the 76ers/Embiid or he wasn't concerned about winning. Either way, he threw our young and new guys out there and told them to figure it out.

I see that same coaching in some of the team's successes. DG and Rubio were so good at running the team that it looked like we had a system; we don't. Kevin is scoring lights out from three this season and when he gets hot it looks like we have competent offense; we don't. These are concerning. I really don't know if JBB is competent enough to make LeVert work for this team.

Superman Embliid showed up last night vs Bucks, in milwaukee.. This was without Hardin.. Yikes.
