Levert was supposed to address this problem to at least some degree. More than he has so far
Nah, thats the thing. LeVert is not a backup point guard! Hes not a guy who runs an offense!
He is a two way slasher/scorer. He's at his best as a second or third scoring option on a talented unit. Pick your poison. Thats why youve seen him succeed with these closing units but struggle with our bench. No targets and no spacing and nobody to take off any pressure from him. He is a totally different answer to the problems that losing Rubio brought on. The Cavs definitely made the LeVert trade with an eye to the future moreso than "winning now" but also knew he could help Garland out a lot right now. He helps Garland when theyre on the floor together, not by replacing him off the floor.
