Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #80 | Cavs @ Magic | April 5, 2022 | 7:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Raptors have gone cold... I was hoping I could focus on some work tonight :rolleyes::rolleyes:

And we assumed Orlando was a gimme.
LOL. We have people here who think NBA teams actively tank games. The Magic didn't do a very good job of tanking tonight but we sure did. Maybe the plan is to make sure we keep our pick and the players are all in on it? That's how we played tonight.

LeVert was mia most of the game

If we meet Atlanta in a play in Okoro should take one for the team and take out Trae with a flagrant 2

But Lebron had something to prove so I cannot put that game in this category.
I can..they played the Lakers as if they were intimidated and had too much respect for Lebron. They didn't fight them at all..They fought Philly...they didn't fight tonite either. They played DOWN to their level.

if the Hawks and the Hornets both lose tonight as it now appears they will, we will come out ahead in the playoff race tonight even though we lost. Teams are running out of time to catch us

Ehh, kinda.

The problem is, this was the Cavs most winnable game left.

If ATL loses tonight...but if we lose out against the Nets and Bucks, the Hawks only need to beat 2 of Washington, Miami and Houston.

So, basically....the Cavs really fucked up super big and made the 9 seed much more likely.

Friday against the Nets is basically the biggest game of the season for the Cavs. Thats the game that will likely determine whether we only have to win 1 or 2 play-in games.

So we have to beat the Nets basically. That locks us in to the top 8. Or the Bucks I guess might get it done

Our collective body language tonight was like losers exhibit. No fire, minimal effort most of the night, then try to pull it out at the end. Just a complete letdown. We forgot anything and everything we did well against the Sixers and reverted back to the worst version of ourselves. Standing around and watching on both sides of the court. No ball movement, hardly any cutting off ball, all one pass and shot, or dribble dribble dribble shot.

I don't see how anyone can let the players off the hook on this loss because it was more about lack of effort and desire than anything else.

While this WAS the game to win to solidify 7/8... It's not impossible to beat Brooklyn or Milwaukee and get the same outcome. .... Yeah, it feels ridiculous to type that in a way after this one and after this stretch...

Okay... The Brooklyn game is gonna be tough. They're gunning for the 7 or 8 spot and a win against the Cavs will give both teams the same number of losses.

Yeah, I don't know.

I want to see the Cavs play in the playoffs while thinking they're capable of much more than what they're showing right now. But losing this game and some of the others down the stretch leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. I'm not going to be hurt if they miss out on the postseason, that's for damn sure. They'll get some play-in experience either way.

Season isn't over. Bad loss tonight.
Cavs with one less loss than Brooklyn and the Hawks. Charlotte: two losses behind.
Even if Chicago loses out, can't catch them.
