Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Play-in Game #1 | Cavs @ Nets | April 12, 2022 | 7:00 p.m. TNT

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This morning there was a shooting situation at a subway station in Brooklyn, which obviously means a whole lot more than this game. I believe this is one station before Barclays. I would assume that postponing the game is on the table, as it should be if emergency resources are stretched.
Yeah, I don't see any possible way this game gets played tonight.

My heart says ML. My brain says take the damn points.
Im taking the ml initially for +348, then ill take points live betting when the Nets go on a run, so Ill have the Cavs plus 10 to 12 range.

Perp still at large, and apparently one explosive device went off and other undetonated ones were found. Sounds pretty unsettled.

If they play them like they did last week and shoot 3s like they did against the Bucks, they'll win. But I'm not confident. I expect the 3 point shooting to be in the 30-35% range.

They'll only win if they control the boards and play as well as they did last Friday. Will Allen be back? Inquiring minds want to know.
Their defense is not their strength. Attack the rim, also others than Garland, and they will give us free throws. And keep an eye on our open 3-point shooters at all times. Move the ball to find them. It is only one game. We have a chance.

Where this attack happened it is located a half mile away from the Barclay's. Manhattan went on full alert when I was driving through to take my daughter to school. Perp is still on the run. That is a really quiet non-busy subway stop but near the Barclay's. It is NYC I don't think they shut down the game but who knows.

Do you know if the subways are still running, are they shut down, or are they partially shut down?

2 of the lines are completely shut down and 3 others are suspended off and on. Apparently straphangers are being routed to shuttle buses. The suspect/shooter is still on the loose

Watching news conference now. B & W suspended, all other lines in that area running with suspensions/delays . . .

Looks like the incident scene is 2.6 miles from Barclay's Center, about a 50 minute walk.

I'm guessing that unless something else happens things will be back to somewhat normal and the game will proceed as scheduled. This is NYC after all.

If anything they'll make a point of playing to show solidarity. Same kinds of things happened after 9/11 . . .

J.B. Bickerstaff told reporters on Tuesday that the Cavs will "lean heavily on [Rajon] Rondo" during the playoffs.

Bickerstaff even said that he is a believe in "Playoff Rondo". While this doesn't mean that the Cavs will be benching All-Star guard Darius Garland in favor of Rondo, it does likely mean that we'll see a lot of minutes from him and very few from Brandon Goodwin. Rondo played 25 minutes in their last game, which was a blowout win over the Bucks. Before that, he was seeing around 14 minutes per game, and he'll likely play around that amount while mirroring Garland's minutes during the postseason.

We're also missing The Real D Wade which further hurts our rebounding and defense in addition to missing Jarrett.

Will be interesting to see how many minutes Kevin plays. We need him to be a beast tonight.

Tough ask to win this one shorthanded.

They are saying they don't believe a terror attack, another isolated shooting... That being said even with the active shooter on the run, they most likely will play the game... NYC is wild with all these shootings on the subway. I won't ride the subways, . The homeless on and outside them are just alarming on top of you just don't feel safe on them or outside them. And I have lived in NYC for 18 years...

I thought I read somewhere in these forums that Brandon Goodwin is not eligible to play in the play-offs. Does that mean he's also ineligible for the play-in games?

If so, why do writers keep talking about him like he's even an option?
